Hi
Yes this is a forum alt of someone else. I am a CEO of a corp who'se operations straddle 0.0 to empire. I have found that the corp tax can be a good way of compelling pilots to attend a mandatory week long operation or a CTA. However, i feel that the tax system is a bit of a blunt instrument who'se im plementation can be refined somewhat. Just like standard methods of taxation have banding, why not have a means of selcting individualised tax rates based on area sec status:
Hisec 1.0-0.5 Lowsec 0.4-0.1 Nullsec 0.0
Each area has an individual tax rate of 0-100%
...This way if you were for example trying to compel some lazy empire huggers to join a 0.0 CTA, you could set the empire tax to 100% while having the 0.0 tax at 0% (thus affording your combat pilots the opportunity to earn isk while the op is active). Or if you were looking to move corp operations to low/nullsec and wanted to compel everyone to move there, you could set empire to 100%, lowsec to 10% and nullsec to 0%. Your corp tax rate on corp info window would show as an average of the three tax rates.
I reckon this could work nicely and could be a means of more finely tuning corp tax income... And can also act as a means of financially punishing the lazy and indolent while those that make the effort get the goodies
What do you guys reckon?

While I like the idea of having more options in the taxing system... your method of choice would make me leave the corp or just like the other guy said... use alts in high sec.
Could have differing tax for bounties, sales, ect... Perhaps mark some people tax exempt and probably many more useful options.

I'm very sorry that you feel the need to compel your members to follow your plans for their lives instead of doing what they want to do on a video game.
You could, you know, kick those "lazy and indolent" out of your corp instead of attempting to hold onto their services while sucking all the fun out of Eve for them. ---- Suddenly Ninjas Blog: My Loot, Your Tears

I like this idea. That way ppl that need to be exempted from taxation can be and those that are happy to carry on doing their own thing can still do so while paying tax.
