If anyone happens to know for sure then that'd be great.
I'm putting together a fairly basic but extended algebraic formula spreadsheet to determine (apart from unknown factors) how long your ship would last based on whatever amount of DPS you plug in against your ship in regards to your Shield, Armor, and Structure HP & Resistances, along with any shield or armor repair capabilities.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Regarding EVE Online... People really do seem to want something beautiful but unforgiving. |

When considering the value of that additional buffer HP you get, do you think it would be logical to consider it as having 0% resistances or shield value resistance?
Thank you for helping me with this, BTW. Regarding EVE Online... People really do seem to want something beautiful but unforgiving. |

Edited by: Sentient Void on 18/07/2009 14:53:45 Thanks for affirming that for me.
This spreadsheet and plug in factors, et cetera is mostly for use by me and my close friends who also play Eve, and understand that it is only practical for active tankers (shield and/or armor repair). It's mostly to get a good rough idea of how long one should last against other different ship setups, again apart from unforeseen factors.
Thank both of you very much for taking some time to help me with this, it's greatly appreciated. If you are interested at all, for helping me I'll send you the spreadsheet and can contact you through eve if you would like it? Regarding EVE Online... Where does it make an estimation of the amount of time it would last against whatever DPS? I have not seen this feature, but if it is there in some way, shape or form then it would surely save me a lot of hassle and'd probably be a bit more accurate especially if it compenates for Tactical Shield Manipulation (which I won't bother with). Originally by: aetherguy881 If you're taking armor while shield tanking (we won't even mention structure (oops!)) Then you need some better shield skills, otherwise you will continue to fank.
The idea is to get an idea of how long one would last in a pvp encounter, and as was mentioned is not so much for passive shield tankers, more so a rough estimate for active repairers (shield or armor).
As for the gent who mentioned how the shield recharges at different percentage levels throughout the shield (the top of the hyperbole is around 60-70% I believe), that is more for passive shield tankers to worry about, not so much actives (since active tankers are constant). Although for everyone there will be a negligible amount of hyperbole shield recharge per second varying on skills and ship, again it is not significant and would only add, generally, a negligible amount of additional shield time for merely around a few seconds in the long haul. This will be compensated for in the spreadsheet by a fine print. Regarding EVE Online... People really do seem to want something beautiful but unforgiving. |
