Edited by: Wren on 28/09/2004 09:09:49 Production tag: Back in beta I suggested tags for produced items that showed which corp or individual produced an item. You could select this like you select anchored cans now, either for you or for your corp. (This was so you didn't purchase items from your enemies!)
MWD: They should function like small warp drives, propelling you forward at great speed in a straight line foreward. When you use it you break all your locks and all locks on you break. You could not turn while it was activated. Each level of skill would decrease the amount of cap burnt when you used it, and the sizes would determine mass and distance. Small would move small ship X distance. A medium on a small ship would hurl it much farther but take much more grid and cpu and cap to use. This would have to come with an upgrade to afterburners so that with two fitted you could out run missiles, assuming you used appropriate sized afterburners for your ship class. The signature bonus/penalty for using mwd could stay the same, but now warp disruptors and scramblers would work to stop them from working.
This would make MWD an actual Micro Warp Drive, and not just the super mean kickass grandaddy afterburner it is now.
Corp/Alliance Concord War Contracts: Have obtainable war objectives so wars would be won/lost and inactive wars would be declared null and void by Concord. The objectives and way this could be done is up to CCP. --------------------------------------------------

Yes, im sorry, its exploitable, people loose their lock on you when you use it? Its a sure way to escape... you align with an escape point, you start shooting enemies, then when you get in trouble activate your MWD, you stop taking damage and you insta-warp when your MWD stops....

I like both ideas very much.
Aneu...Negetive my linear thinker...You loose YOUR locks. Otherwise it would be crazy to have the 500% sig penalty to the MWD...now wouldnt it.
BTW,

The distance you shot foreward would also not be a sure get-away, maybe 20 - 30 km and then the activation cycle might be used to make sure you couldn't chain them together without pause.
But, don't think about it as all used to escape. Think about how you could use it to engage defensive positions with assult craft. You could 'jump' forward and then orbit with your afterburners. You could warp into a system then 'jump' past the gate camp and hit them from the other side.
Like I said, it was a crazy idea but one that makes more sense than having an afterburner which barely does anything strategic or tactical and then here is the MWD that does everything so well that the devs put in this signature bonus/penalty thing. --------------------------------------------------

The only thing your doing in graetly nerfing interceptors and frigates with the 2n idea would be one more ******* reason to GREATLY increase afterburners power OR reduce their pg thou, so we can use upper class... your an id***

What?
Intercepters could now completely use the afterburners to become very very very good at being an interceptor, instead of basically screwing themselves over when you fit a MWD.
Seriously, think. --------------------------------------------------

I like the Tag Line idea, making it a corp thing would mean you would have a brilliantly marketable thing for your corp, HDY would probably love this idea as well.
As for the MWD, Between the the current and your idea, I really can't see the point in your suggestion, your idea doesn't provide any real benefits to anyone over the current design. It hinders more than it benefits in that you lose your targets and you only move a relatively short distance. If it would be implemented, you'd have to lower the sig boost of it because it'd be a horribly unbalanced module, only useful for jumping when you don't have a insta-mark *shrugs*.
As far as I can see, the only person to remotely benefit from this is trawling indies. --------------------------------------------- I'm the root of all thats evil yeah, but you can call me Cooki3
Some people couldn't get a clue, if they were in the middle of a clue field, in the middle of clue mating season, doused in clue pheromones, in a clue suit, shouting "Clooo! Clooo!" whilst beating themselves with a clue stick |

Or for fast locking ships to use so you could basically reset all locks you have on you and that you have, moving some, and then picking new targets to lock and turn on moduals on.
The benifits would be to afterburner users and then add another level to combat for MWD users.
Are you tired of 'orbit X distance' -> 'activate MWD' -> 'wait until optimal range or orbit distance' -> 'activate high/med slots' -> Rinse -> Repeat if needed. --------------------------------------------------
