I recently uninstalled eve, and then reinstalled it again using the normal download link from the eve website...
I managed to get the client installed but half way through the login process the client completey froze. So i tried uninstalling and reinstalling it again using the same download process but this time at the end of the installation process it said there was a problem with extracting the last file and told me to get the offline downwload version.
Had the same problem with the offline version, until i did a system restore to a few weeks ealier period, but now im back to square one where the client freezes after 10 seconds, whether its in the login screen, character screen or station just as i log in.
Aany hints or suggestons would be helpful.

configure your firewall to allow eve.exe / exefile.exe and consorts to connect? ^^

arleady done that, it seems so long as im quick enough and get past the station loading screen, i can play eve without it crashing, but only once all the loading is done

clear your cache then :P
(machonet folder somewhere depending on OS and settings :P)

cleard my cache, cant seem to find the machonia folder... but now im just getting froze on the "entering game as....." screen. thx for ur help so far,

its "machonet"
so why are you hanging that long? where are you logging in? jita? slow pc? bad bandwidth? antivirus/firewall not correctly configured?
moaar data... like in the last post where that guy suddenly vanished, prolly embarrasssed

i have no idea why. Was working fine before i unistalled it, but then when i reinstalled it, it just started to freeze. Cant find that folder anywhere on my entire system. Just logging into a small system, 50 people max... pc specs are
amd x2 4800
7800gtx 256mb
2gb ram
300gb harddrive
It wont even work in safe mode. Going to try and patch up manually from a older client version, see if that makes any difference. I haven't had any problems with my network, so im thinking maybe somethings wrong with the lastest client patch?

nope, doesn't change a thing. Getting pretty annoyed at this now. As the character loads up and freezes, not even getting the station screen anymore. The eve music in the background will carry on playing like normal for a while then that will stop to. Changing graphic settings has no effect. It cant be a problem with my system as it was working just fine before hand, but now that i reinstalled it using the updated client download on the eve site, it just doesn't seem to want to work |

Im thinking it might have something to do with sound, as i can create new characters easily enough, but the race introduction videos on the character creation screen have trouble when playing sound... has there been any situation before where sound has caused this problem? I have updated my drivers and am using onboard sound. using realtek ac'97 audio.
