Anne McCaffrey wrote a great book, entitled "Sassinak", which the cover bullet reads:
"Sassinak was 12 when the raiders came. That made her just the right age: old enough to be used, young enough to be broken. Or so the slavers thought. But Sassy turned out to be a little different . . . and bided her time to become the fleet captain of a pirate-chasing ship of her own."
I reckon it could be some sort of evil alternate universe Captain Kirk thing
I'd reccomend reading it, though. Anne is a gifted writer.

It wasn't really meant as a book review,I was just pointing out that the main character in the book hunts pirates, while our own version here in Eve hunts people.

Are you somehow implying pirates aren't people? If this thread was supposed to be funny, i don't get it.

Edited by: Lazarus Longinus on 28/09/2004 11:07:37 Pirates are not people!!
They are shaven apes with wooden legs and an odd affection for foul-mouthed parrots who can't count past 8.

Some people couldn't get a clue, if they were in the middle of a clue field, in the middle of clue mating season, doused in clue pheromones, in a clue suit, shouting "Clooo! Clooo!" whilst beating themselves with a clue stick |

Ugh.
All I was trying to do was point out:
Sassinak in the book was captured at an early age by pirates and enslaved, she later escaped and joined the "book version" of Concord to hunt pirates who had wronged her.
Sassinak in Eve (m0o) is wanted by Concord for what I guess would be best described as "pirate activity".
The humor I was trying to relay was the alternate reality from the First Star Trek Series, where there is an evil Federation of Planets, where Captain Kirk is the bad guy.
It just struck me as funny is all. I'm not saying pirates aren't people, everyone has different ways of playing Eve, by what makes them happy. It doesn't make them any better or worse, just different.
