I've seen the Lego modeling kits, but why not true scale modelling kits for Eve ships? I.E., the kind of models with plastic pieces that come in kits and are glued together and painted/airbrushed.
CCP could have a licensing agreement with a company like Testors. Might not sell the kind of volume to get them put on shelves in stores, but they could certainly be sold via online outlets, e.g. Amazon, the manufacturer's website, the Eve website, etc.
There's also a crowd that's just straight-up interested in buying and assembling cool looking spaceship models, who don't game. |

I'd like to be able to buy the eve spaceship models, but I've never been one to have the patience to assemble one of those things. so it would be nice that if they were to do this, they were to also sell them as pre-assembled packages or something. |

Not everybody has the patience to do scale modeling. A very time-intensive activity.
Scale modeler hobbyists, the artists among them anyways, generally have anywhere from a several hundred to a few tens of thousands of dollars invested in equipment and invest a couple hours here and there over the course of a few weeks to complete a single model.
Some scale model manufacturers make easy to assemble model kits, that mostly or entirely snap together and don't need to painted.
But, I think the "pre-assembled packages" you're referring to are generally called "toys". |
