So I just got the skills to use both of these, but even after doing some research Im having trouble figuring out which is supposed to be better at pve. I've asked a few people, and have gotten mixed responses, which isn't helpful at all.
Atm I have a good bit of drone skills, and I have used drones extensively in the past. Although, Im thinking that I probably shouldn't just be doing drones since that always won't be as effective as it is right doing lvl 1&2 missions in a vexor. So I've started to train up some hybrid turret skills, and now have access to use med hybrid turrets. So I really have a skill base for both of the ships, which leaves the factor of which ship can fit better for pve?
Thx for help

my money would be on the myrm. persoanlly i hate the way the thing moves (the CG is all wrong) but for a mission ship its excellent.
The bandwidth allows for heavy drones to be used to chew through Level 3 cruisers and BC's with ease and the tank on it is excellent with a dual med repper set up. Add a few drone link augmentors and a couple of guns and it becomes a very strong mission runner indeed.

Myrm. 1000 times.
Better tank and better weapon system for PVE.

If the question is ever "tier 1 BC vs tier 2 BC?" the answer is always "tier 2" ... unless you're worried about cost. The reasons should be numerous and obvious.

go straight to the domi for pve, they are cheap 54 million atm, and not much reason to fly Gall BC's in PvE. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

For Mission running the Myrm is the best choice. Ability to fit a great tank and fit full slot of 200mm rails/ion blasters, plus heavy/medium drones.
The only reason to fly a Brutix in PvE is if you only have gunnery skills and **** poor Drone skills or as a salvager (which is what I use).

Definitely agree that the Myrm is the better choice. I ran several missions in my Myrm that I had previously run in a Brutix and found that I took much less damage and sliced through them much faster. I rarely had to warp out in my Myrm unless it was to reload in something like AE or Blockade.

The choice between Brutix and Myrmidon comes down to tactics:
The Brutix is a direct offense-oriented gunboat. Main DPS comes from hybrid turrets. More high slots for gank, less slots for tank. Ship bonuses include hybrid damage and armor repair.
The Myrmidon is an indirect defense-oriented drone boat. Main DPS comes from drones. Less slots for gank, more medium/low slots for tank. Ship bonuses include drone damage and armor repair.
I'm a drone-monger and the Myrmidon is my favorite ship in EVE, but I still like the Brutix. I actually like to fit my Myrmidon sort of like a Brutix with a bigger drone bay - I fit five guns (projectiles or hybrids) and a drone link aug instead of the salvagers/tractors that other people use. In other words, I like doing damage with both guns and drones.
Since it looks like you're the same way, I'd recommend the Myrmidon fit similar to this:
Highs: 5x 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun (or 5x 650mm Medium 'Scout' Artillery I) 1x Drone Link Augmentor I
Mediums: 1x 10MN Afterburner II 4x Cap Recharger II
Lows: 2x Armor (mission-specific) Hardener II 2x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II (or 2x Gyrostabilizer II if you fit projectiles) 2x Medium Armor Repairer II
Rigs: 1x Auxiliary Nano Pump I 2x Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones: 1x flight of 5x T2 Lights (vs frigates/destroyers) 1x flight of 5x T2 Mediums (vs destroyers/cruisers) 1x flight of 1x T2 Light, 2x T2 Mediums, 2x T1 Heavies (vs battlecruisers/battleships)
Both hybrid and projectile fits are cap-stable (but only with certain ammo types in the hybrid fit). I have Repair Systems V, which repairs faster but uses cap energy more often, so you might not have that ammo problem. The projectile fit has longer range and saves on ammo, but requires projectile turret training (obviously). -- Warezmy Carr's Skills: Here |

Thats what I use:
[Brutix, PVE] Power Diagnostic System II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Medium Armor Repairer II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Tracking Enhancer II
10MN Afterburner II Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M 250mm Railgun II, Lead Charge M
Ancillary Current Router I Ancillary Current Router I Hybrid Locus Coordinator I
Hammerhead II x5
Its very much fun to fly. Without AWU V you need to replace the pds with an rcu which makes it not so easy on cap. Very long range with good dps and battleship-worthy damage at closer range (25 km). Cap stable without ab and with medium range ammunition (medium means 50km for this setup). For missions where things tend to heat up a bit (for example with a bunch of sentries and ships at close range) its better to switch the tracking enhancer for an energized adaptive.
Oh and yes I know its not exactly cheap due to the rigs. Still wanted to share it.
