The Way Right click to save, you know the drill.
Xvid, 4.47 long, 77 megs. Contains last saturdays(25.9.2004) evening blobbing and results. Only had my own frapsing to use so it's abit choppy at times(fx5200 gfx card). Editing took bout 4 hours for picture, another 30 minutes after that for sound and a final re-edit of certain things like spelling etc, total time bout 5 hours. Rendering 7161 frames and recoding down to Xvid took bout 30 minutes.
Xvid Site for Codec if you don't have it.
Enjoy! ________________________________

Hehe. I mixed together like 1.5 or 2 minutes of the ambient stuff at the start and then listened to it and I just thought, this isn't strong enough. Took the Initial D 4th Stage Opening Music single and just put the Move song there having it end where the vid ended and it turned out some parts of it really fit into the video. Thought about having the instrumental version but japanese = teh sex. ________________________________

Very nice editing!! Very impressive!
I can't believe I liked the music though but it fitted very well!
Though while trying to be objective in the matter I think it is very low to hang out individual characters in the way that you did. Maybe they did some really stupid stuff, I don't know, but to display them like you did is all time low in my eyes. Regardless of conflict.
Good job with the video as a whole though.

Yes, Powder is there for like 30 seconds or so, it'd fit act 1 nicely with it's lenght if I remember right, but it was hard to find something that was suited for Act3 and of proper lenght. And I wasn't out to make a perfect video, just a summary of what saturday was like from my perspective so I just went with some random song from my collections that had some power and energy to it. As for the evenig from my pow: Alot of sitting around, then some movements which led to some more sitting around which finally ended in some kills.
As for why not engage, I'm not in command during the op, nor do I think that any sane player will jump on a fleet 1.5 times its size when we're talking about numbers getting close to 100 on the larger side. PA had propably 2 times or more our numbers when you count in the blobs I labeled support(just an estimate) and I think the question should be why not engage into combat when you have clearly superior numbers. We had a repetition of PA doing the same last evening at 11pm or so, with their numbers being roughly double what we have and them still not engaging. Today we saw some change in this behavior but it's still the norm that PA won't attack anything that might put a dent into one of their ships, which often leads to the situation where the lag they blame their reluctance to attack on is to a great extent caused by their blobsize, the irony... I'm drifting off though, its not really any of my concern how PA want to spend their time in EVE, we still get kills even if they just sit in 2 systems with megablobs.
I have a better graphics card ordered so once that arrives I'll be able to perhaps film fleet battles at more than 5fps, I don't really see a point in making every video all kills though, it simply makes blowing up a ship just yet another thing you've seen a thousand times.
As for the characters, vulp's kill was just about the funniest thing I've seen in EVE in a while, the setup he was running on his ship .... I'm sure he'll get a couple friendly tips and hints on what an apoc setup should be like now so that the next time we'll need more than 3 frigs to take him out. ________________________________

EDIT: No, I'm sorry, despite the music and the very nice editing it still comes across as a bit shabby...like a bad aftertaste. Its not that you killed some of our ships we've done the same to you its...well something. You have produced better in the past. Anyway, lets have a blast shall we!

It was a recap of the saturday from my point of view. Was there a point to it? Not really. Would you like me to make the next one a sitcom or drama with some teaching to it?
And Lowa : It's the first movie I've done, not sure what you mean with produced better before? And the music rocks, amen! ________________________________

I seriously doubt the accuracy of much the "storyline" and personal attacks in a movie are rather tacky. It cheapens the "art" side of this media and reminds me of political smear commercials seen on telivision.
Other than that, an above average movie creation for a first timer. Please stick with it, I see great movies in your future.

I beleive, the video maker is making assumptions of what I did vs. what Reptar says I did or did not do. Anyways, I would rather avoid this conversation because it was already discussed at lenght, where I even went as far as explaining what actually happened in detail.
For the sake of the artistic value I will not try to get into details because it will only turn into yet another m0ovolution vs. presidio flamefest.
However I remember a fleet battle when a PA fleet jumped on the good old F-E and totally got decimated before any of us actually loaded the scene. Nuff said.
It is really not important, we will have plenty of battles to prove our worth. We have done it in the past and we will do it again.
p.s. at first I hated the song in the video and now the song has been spining in my head for the past 12 hours, is there a subliminal message in that video? ... nevermind. -

Could the same not be said of any fleet, be it EVOL, m0o, CA, SA, FA or PA. Noone in there right mind on any side is gonna jump into a system or fight in a system, where the number of people in local is pushing or exceeds 100 people with the current status of lag on the server.
IF u do, the outcome will depend on who lags the least/most and this is no way for any side to do battle and is no fun whatsoever for anyside if it takes 20 mins to reload youre guns.
TBH im gettin a little fedup of the childish ranting by BOTH sides and think u should all remember its A GAME!!!!!.
*Jim passes around the anti flaming/trolling cAKe to calm the forums down on both sides.

I thought that the video itself was very well done, especially for a first effort. I'm not going to get into the other debate raging here except to simply say that I thought the "Awards" thing was a bit much.
Oh, and the music was... interesting. Luckily, it's not following me around in my head like some people here. -

I'll get you yet, Jrock will become the no 1 music in the world.
And I said it earlier already, it's supposed to be a recap of the saturday, it's not a newsreel, nor made by someone impartial to the conflict. As for awards :
Type : Ballistic Control System I + Fitted - Low slot Quantity : 1
on an apoc, you tell me why he should ever be allowed to leave empire...
My next movie will most likely have a different theme/way its built up, we'll see where fraps raw footage takes me during the coming week, or if my x800 finally arrives to reduce lag, not to mention what kind of effects and variables I play around with in premiere. ________________________________

You can complain all you want about the pa not jumping into you and engaging, but you could have jumped into them just as easily.
If you didn't want to do so because of the lag of loading in, then put yourself in the other forces shoes, knowing that jumping in so many ships will result in many lagging out and ctd'ing, leaving the rest potentially outnumbered.
I'm not saying this was/wasn't the reason for either force not engaging. I wasn't in either fleet :) but I imagine the conversations regarding whether to jump in were probably pretty similar on both sides.
Either way, I liked the music that went with the film, worked quite well :) But the film itself didn't really do it for me. I'm not too keen on films that state kills/losses, I feel they just don't give people a full indication of what went on, instead it shows a snapshot of one incident. Maybe it was more to do with the film been very anti PA, I guess you need to listen to the reviews from neutrals more to get a gauge on how good it is, as my opinion is probably a little too biased :P
I honestly wish CCP would implement an ingame kill list system, showing how many ships each corp has killed, which system, pilot names etc. Since I'm 100% certain that neither side in this conflict is fully informed of how many ships they're lossing to each other or how many kills they're making. On a corp level its pretty easy to track kills/losses, but when your allied with others fighting the same war, it becomes much harder.
Keenon: "After sitting in the system for FIVE hours without even a (go away)"...

I think if the smacktalk would have been left out the video would be nicer.
This is not a hijack

Ok everyone calm down and remember to breath........
It's just a vid, and was poking a bit of fun at some people, but as Jim Bond said, it would of been dumb for either side to think about jumping in
So why can we not try to allow the other force into the system so we can get our much deserved, much waited for fight?
That was also it would take alot less time to get the ball rolling
After all its a game and were meant to have fun
I said it in the other thread, and i will say it again, we should let the other force in the system so we can get it on Sass Arcane Technologies |
