I'm really surprised that no one has made mention about the Tournament Prizes. In my opinion, they are freaking AWESOME.

You have to remember that participating costs about 20 bil, if not more. So 3rd and fourth place are not winning anything, just recouping most of their ISK investment. Since 64x2 = 128 and 50+30+40 is 120, 8 bil of the sign up money is taken away. A symbolic 2 bil for teams in positions 5-8 might have been nice, to partly alleviate the "hah, 5th place, you could've as well dropped out in the qualifiers" feeling. In the end doesn't matter much.

Im not sure if i can agree with that. u can get away with speding way less.

The eventual topic of this conversation begins to pain me. I feel I have to bring it up, but everyone here does know that they didnt necessarily "need" any of this signup money, right?
When Claw says, the 8 billion is going for other things, i giggle a bit, because someone at hte office could have just done /create 128 billion.
The entry fee is a money sink to ameliorate the market change from the infusion of the prize isk. Lets not speak of this as if no entry fee would have meant there was no isk to be given out.

No isk would have been given out if there had not been an entry fee. Just like there was no isk given out last year, when there was no entrance fee.
