I was thinking if it would be possible to have mining lasers dump their ore into the hold as they mine it, instead of just dropping once a min... So like if you were mining veldspar your hold would fill up with veldspar and you could watch it rise quickly... but if you were mining bisto it would slowly creap up as the miners have to work harder to get 1m3 of it...
*shrug* just food for thought =)

Finally a nice suggestion.
Wouldn't change a thing for gameplay, but it would make it more interesting (vaguely so) to spend one hour mining stuff.

I believe the reason why mining lasers are only checked once per minute is for lag purposes.

i like this idear but i dont know if the lump sum was put in there to man that people had to stagger there laser when can mining with a small hold?
as i bit of a oftopic it would be nice to have a recycle countdown timer so a leaser starts at 59 and counts down to 0 and then cycles (same for all modules etc?
