Edited by: Islay on 30/09/2004 15:20:50 Hi, I would like to draw your attention to the EVE map tool, which basically draws the EVE map and has all kinds of nice features:
map- draw systems/routes/security levels
- real-time display of character movement
routing- shortest route
- block/avoid system
- optimize route with multiple waypoints
- load&save routes, route comments
- avoid/prefer specific security status
station database- search station (name, facilities etc.)
- determine closest
system database- system notes
- grouping of systems
agent database- search agent (name, level etc.)
- determine closest agent
- search implants
..and it is completely free to use!
screenshot
it still is an early beta and under constant construction, but you will get an idea of the functionality.
cheers, Islay

a new version (beta 3) was just released:
Closest Inter-Region System this nifty tool (see tools menu) calculates the station in each region that is closest to your present location. this way traders can easily calculate the closest markets.
agent search added search security status, and on required standing
station search added security information & search
improved character location parsing this would sometimes be buggy, now it should work ok. if you suddenly encounter an old (deleted) character on your map, you can set it to ignore in the settings.

Like I said on the EVE-I boards - nice tool but 'was' slightly awkward to use. &
*EDIT: The beta-3 version has taken care of most of my major gripes. *
Features to consider for beta-4:
- A 'center view on selected character' option.
- A 'shortcut key' to open the search window.
- The ability to drag a selected system, found using search, into the Route Planner section.
- Use 's' & 'f' in the check boxes of systems listed in the Route Planner section.
- Listing stations by/with Research Labs, Medical/Refining Facilities, an Insurance Desk or a Repairshop.
Problems encountered in beta-3:
- The '+/-' zoom options don't work after 'zoom to route boundaries' is selected. 100% zoom or mousework is required to clear this.
- The Route Planner uses all systems listed even if they are not checked.

although this is undesired behaviour which will be fixed, ppl have reported that this is solved when you configure your EVE path (see settings).

Edited by: Xavier Arron on 01/10/2004 18:45:35 Bugs I have found so far;
1)It shows the location of alt chars that i deleted long ago. 2)If you zoom out really far (i was just playing around) it wont let you zoom back in.
edit: 3) And yes doesnt show my main.
Only minor bugs really.
