Assuming roughly equal numbers of pilots available to both sides and a good variety of ships, how would one counter a station camp of HAC/BS snipers? The goal is not to get out of station safely, it is to kill the snipers.

Have a covops get a warp in on the snipers. If they are not a bright gang of snipers they could even possibly be in an instant undock ________________________________________________

What he said.
Basically - bait them with a few BS on the undock, get a warpin for your dictors (inties will likely get popped) and then undock the rest of your fleet and commence the destruction. Don't let them know the total of your gang before it is strictly necessary.
If you're not in 0.0 uhh... move there. No, but seriously, no way to really catch them then.
Edit: If they're good you won't get any kills though. They should all be aligned out and warp before your dictors land. ___________________

We talk about highsec/lowsec? They're dead then. Or at least - useless. Place probes around station and wait them come. As they appear on overview - scan them and warp squad/fleet to it. If you'll be fast enough - they won't have time to align even.
~10 seconds to scan + 4-6 seconds to align + 10 seconds to warp to them. As they'll have about same time before finish warp, check overview and align - you have good chance to get them unprepared.
If they're already sitting on spot aligned - you'll have less chances but still. Warp with squad/fleet to spot near station but off-grid (moon is fine if there no hostile POS) to don't gather too much attention. Place probes around station, scan and warp your squad/fleet to it. In worst scenario - they'll be warping only without ability to snipe anything. In best - you'll get some easy kills.

I love the internet! You can get so many devious minds chewing on things and get so many interesting answers. Of course, you also get trolls and flamewars, but solid answers like these appear.
Thank you!

Great tactic, thanks. This is probably a dumb question, but why wouldn't this work in 0.0?

Because if they're smart - they'll surround themselves with bubbles. And you'll land your fleet right at their preferred distance without ability to warp away fast. Although, i don't have 0.0 fight experience, so i can be wrong.

Uhhh...
There's no way you'll catch snipers outside of 0.0 if they're competent and use new spots constantly. Aligning out takes as long as one MWD cycle regardless of what ship you are flying.
It's far easier to catch them in 0.0 as you may get lucky with a dictor then atleast.
And no, a sniper fleet will not set up bubbles unless they are camping in particular. Also, bubbles wouldn't be much good as you could just reposition your fleet to bypass them when you need warpins. They would warp in at new spots all the time and any anchored bubbles would be a nuisance instead of an advantage. ___________________

Aligning takes time to turn your ship if your speed isn't zero. You can make 2-3 bookmarks at one line to don't turn ships but not much point in that as chasing fleet will follow you on all of them with few seconds delay only.
And we talk about humans, right? People need a lot of time to react. They will lose time to read overview filled with enemies, they'll busy with locking targets, they'll have lags. Experienced scanner can scan and start squad/fleet warp to them while they didn't finished warp even. That leaves very small time window for snipers to get out.
I'm also planning to try stealth bombers as tacklers (to warp to snipers cloaked, decloak and tackle them) in future, perhaps that will work better even.

Well, then roaming sniping isn't very useful in 0.0 too (at least, without good short-range support fleet). They'll able to catch some small ships occasionally, but most of time they'll warp between their bookmarks while chased by enemies. With big risk to get tackled and die at every warp.

You have no idea what you are talking about, man. :|
Edit: Aligning is NOT HARD. No matter if you land with speed active or you're in a frickin' BS, it only takes you 10 seconds to align as that is one MWD cycle. ___________________

I know what i'm talking about. We've scored some snipers kills because my tactic. Not sure if they were great snipers or not, can't ask dead bodies.

You'll get squad of lock spamming tacklers that finished warp on top of you in these 10 seconds. Of course, there will be align time before they warp but this is not big for them. You may lose more time on selecting bookmark to warp out with mouse.

Sniper HAC gangs are a tough nut to crack in 0.0. You can go at them with your own snipers, but they will just warp out before they pop, because they are a lot faster than you.
Yes, you can get warp-ins with cov ops or SBs, but a good gang will rarely stay in one spot long enough for that to work. If your cloakies have a lot of bookmarks and you are on your own turf, its a bit easier, but its still hard no matter how you cut it.
We had a fight between semi-sniper BS and a Sniper HAC gang about a month ago. The only people to die in the engagements were tacklers - and all of them died on both sides. We finally just went our separate ways because neither could hold the other down...

Most sniper hacs are pretty weak, an equal group in sniper BS will alpha them.

You don't get warpins with covops or sb. You get warpin with probing. It is very fast and you'll able to warp to them before they finish their own warp (you'll miss them few kilometers but this is not real problem).
Better idea to warp cloaked SB to probed point fitted for tackling, so they couldn't get warned. But i didn't tried that trick. It works without this often.
