What decides how much of a standing hit you take when shooting and/or killing players who are a part of a npc corp?
And why is this penalty here, players in npc corps have enough benefits already. Having to risk my agent access by shooting them in empire is a bit harsh I think.

Edited by: Maria Kalista on 23/07/2009 07:54:06 As far as I know your security rating, your victims security rating and the security rating of the system you are in, all affect the hit you get from shooting without a wardec or aggression timer.
There was a blog about that last year with more excact numbers (I think).
Why you wanne shoot npc players? Someone scanned you down doing missions?
Edit: found the blog: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=577

First, I'm not talking about security status. I'm talking about corporation standings with corps like University of Callie etc.
I shoot these players when pvp'ing in lowsec.

I don't think it has any effect, but if you've already shot them you can see it in-game.
Go to your character sheet, choose standings, find University of Caille, right click on it and look at the transactions. If you get a standings hit, it will show up there.

Unless something's changed, if you shoot someone in an NPC corp, you'll lose standing to that corp, even in 0.0.
The last I remember reading about it, and this was a few years ago, there was no logical reason given why this was so. Frankly, it didn't sit well with a lot of 0.0 dwellers. But perhaps something has changed in the meantime.

Confirmed you do lose standing with the NPC corp. Seems reasonable to me, they're not gonna like you for it are they?
Same as shooting actual NPCs. |
