Each mission (0.4 system) has given less than 8000LP per mission for this 5 mission chain and the last one requires killing a carrier. Normal L5 missions give 40000K+, 60k is not unusual. All my relevant connection skills are at 4, so why is this mission chain LP so low in comparison to other L5? The missions are just as hard.
Just about to do the last mission, here's the text; A Dirty Job (5 of 5) Objectives The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission:
Objective Kill the Agent
Rewards The following rewards will be yours if you complete this mission:
368000 credits 7393 Loyalty points
Bonus Rewards The following rewards will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 40 minutes.
363000 credits
Mission info is here eve-survival
Quick summary; 1 carrier 45 fighters 30 frigates 46 cruisers 7 battleships
Are there any other L5 mission chains that are this much a waste of time?

If i had to guess its possible to kill the agent and ignore everyone else. The time frame to earn the reward seems to suggest this. Basically the quicker the missions can be done, the lower the rewards are.

I guess there are only very few people which completed the whole mission chain (3/5, 4/5 and 5/5). Therefore the LP rewards are laughable because the missions rewards get adjusted the more people are completing them. I did 1/5 and 2/5 (massive amounts of tags because of empire faction enemy) but never did 3/5 and so on. In 3/5 you have to collect some containers or something like that (can't remember exactly). It's not fun collecting such rubbish containers in low-sec and looting tags with some pirats at your ass
As a mission pioneer ("exploring" new missions) with high risk you get the smallest possible reward ... something CCP should think about
ps: NPC-carriers are the biggest joke in missions (time sink)

The mission before this which I considered a 'blitz' mission also had a 40min timer, 20 of that was used flying/scouting the 6-7 jumps thru low sec! With all the scram and neut in part 4/5, there is no way to blitz it. I can see this happening in 5/5 too. L5 kill missions should have at least 4 hours bonus timer on them, but preferably 24 hours. What really needs to be change tho is the LP for this mission chain, it's just insultingly low. I was hoping that it was low to begin with put would ramp up. I was utterly wrong :]

Based on the amount of DPS that has needed to be tanked to blitz this mission chain, it is not blitz-able as the spawns come in waves and you have to keep the DPS on the main tank (thus warping the others out). Then you have to kill everything stopping you from warping. L5 are all about rewarding with LP. There's usually no bounties (only faction loss and insignias). I can get 8k from a L4 in empire and spend 1/4 of the time doing it and earn more bounties and loot. This mission chain is massively unbalanced risk/reward.
Just to add salt to the wound, there was no model for the carrier (harkal) |

I'd agree with Mother Drone that the reason the rewards are so low is that very few people have done the last parts of the mission sequence.
CCP uses a balancing system for mission rewards. This system uses the average time it takes players to complete a mission to set the LP and isk rewards -- basically the longer it takes to complete a mission, the better the rewards. Unfortunately the system starts off with low rewards for the missions (as you have reported) and only increases them after many players have completed the missions. If few people are running them then the rewards remain low.
The system works well for popular missions, but breaks down for the less frequently run encounters.
Cheers, Arrs

I was not aware of that system, but I might petition it as a bug :] It doesn't fit into any other category |
