November of 2007 is the last time I've played. I was a mission runner and wanted to experience pvp. It was going well until I lost a Raven and it made me mad. I logged off the minute I lost my ship and never came back until now. I got a reactivate offer and want to return to mission running. Insurance bought me another Raven.
My question is being away from the game so long and not knowing the changes yet, what level of mission do you folks suggest I start with? |

L3 is a good starting point as any. If in doubt, start with the lowest reasonable.
L4 requires a bit more knowledge in dmg types/tanking, which L3 will warm you up nicely.

I agree -- level 3 missions should ease you back in.
A lot has changed over the 2 years since you were last in a pod. Missions are somewhat different now. Use the on-line guides to figure out how to approach each mission and remember to fit an appropriate tank.

I'm getting old and can't remember.  I have taken the advice given me and everything is going fine except for one ridiculous thing. I have to be forgetting something. I am running lvl 3 illegal activity part 1. My raven can set there for days and not come close to loosing my shield at all. I can blow away the bigger ships from far away and laugh about it, but...those nasty little frigates get close to me and I can't kill them. Cruise missiles are useless and that is all I have fitted. I have drones but my skills from 2+ years ago only let me fly 3 at a time (working on that). My drones fly around and can't catch the frigates so I sit there with only frigates left to kill but I CAN'T KILL THEM! I have to be forgetting something. I have told my drones to "engage" but they can't seem to catch the frigates.
sigh.......any ideas, this is ridiculous!

Use light Drones on frigs, there has been a tracking nerf on mediums since you left.
It's all down to skills, get all the drone support skills to 4 and drones to 5, get T2 lights and you will have no problems killing frigs. I remember having to call in a corp mate to kill the Elite frigs when I was still on low skills.
Make sure you are using the correct damage type drones in the meantime, that will make a difference. priority is Drones 5 and then drone interfacing 4

On to the next problem. Same mission and the warrior drones worked like a champ, but now I can't find the Gallente Light Marine I need to complete the first part of the mission. I thought I emptied all of the wrecks and when I went back to check again later (a lot later) they were all gone. If I wait long enough will the attackers appear again and give me another chance to find the marine, or am I sunk? I still have plenty of time to complete the mission if I can get passed this latest hurdle. One more thing, is it safe to assume there are no more cans, just wrecks? Wow do I have a lot to catch up on!

The mission critical item is always in a jet can. The telltale sign is a jet can overlapped on top of a wreck, if it came out of a rat you just blew up.
If the mission journal detail says "Objectives completed" and you need to turn in an item, look for the jet can before it disappears! The whole mission will not respawn after DT even if you have not picked up the can.

ah ha! Thanks Sandeep for the info and quick response. Good thing I have good standing with this particular agent. I must have overlooked the jet can. I'll just have to take the standings hit and move on. I will know better next time, Thanks again!
