Can someone tell me where to find the skill Astronautic Engineering? I can't find it anywhere. |

It doesn't exist. The skill was once planned, books seeded even, but never actually used. A few of the skill books are still in the game, they can be bought (at exhorbitant prices) and even trained, but they'll do you no good because the skill isn't used for anything. It goes along with Salvage Drone Operation, Mobile Refinery Operation and Mobile Factory Operation as skills with books that were never implemented. |

oh ok. I have a level II R&D agent that I have everything trained up to what I need to use it except Astronautic Engineering level 2...what do I need to do to use the agent then? |

IIRC personal standing to his corp and aditionally personel standing to the agent or his faction. look in the agent info to find out how high. |

There is no Standing requirement, just ot have certain skills trained. |

The only reason you would need Astronautic Engineering for an R&D agent is to get Astronautic Engineering Datacores. But absolutely nothing uses Astronautic Engineering datacores, so it would be a complete and utter waste of time.
Since you're obviously getting your R&D agent to sell datacores, you might want to do a bit of market research on what datacores are the most valuable, before investing in the time, skills and standings.

I have a follow-up question. Do all research agents (of a given level) produce datacores in the same quantity/rate? In other words, can I compare the prices of two datacores and assume the more valuable one is the one I should pursue -- or do I need to figure in different rates of production? |

Assuming the same character running the agent, RP per day will vary with the quality of the agent. A L4 Q18 agent will produce more RP than a L4 Q0 agent will. Level is more important than quality, and so is your skill level in the research skill. |

As stated above, the agent level & quality and your skill level in the applicable science skill will effect how many Research Points you get per day from the agent. However, it takes the same number of RPs to buy a datacore regardless of the agent or the skill, so you can just compare datacores straight across to figure out which ones you can sell for the most Isk. You will get the same number of each type of datacore.
(Note that the Starship Engineering skills gain RPs at 3x the rate of all the other skills. However, the datacores cost 3x as many RPs to buy, so you effectively end up with the same number of datacores per day. It's a hold-over from the old t2 lottery days)

So is that agen tjust one that I can not work with because I can never get Astronautic Engineering? |

According to Eve Agents, that agent also does research in Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Engineering, and Minmatar Starship Engineering. You can train up one of those skills; the books are normally 10 million each at a university station. |

You don't seem to understand research agents.
Each agent can research a few different fields. If you have skill in ONE of those fields, you can have the agent do research for you.
If the agent has 4 fields, you DO NOT need all those 4 skills to use the agent. |

oh ok...I didn't know what I was doing then. I have the other 2 research skills trained up. But I still can't get that agebt to deal with me. I guess I need a higher standing? But it doesn't say how high in the agent info. |

You'd either need a 2.9 standing with Core Complexion, or a 2.9 standing with the Minmatar Republic as well as a .9 standing with Core Complexion to use that agent. |

Some research fields give have a field multiplier, (2x or 3x) that give you 2x or 3x as many RP/day, BUT the datacores they sell cost 2x / 3x as much, so in the end all fields are equal for datacores per day, so you just need to worry about which datacores will be the most valuable when you sell the cores. (which isn't necessarily the same as when you start the research ;) )

You need any one of: Minmatar Starship Engineering, Molecular Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Astronautic Engineering to work with that agent. You can use and need only 1 of those, not all of them.

Gavin- But why Core Complexion? The agent is with Boundless Creation. It is agent Adrald Evalfolf.
