As much as I hate to agree with an idiot like Davinel, you're better off going with Amarr for L4s. They're just better than Minmatar in that respect. Plus you'll be training skills you'll need to get into a Paladin down the road.

Their battleships are terrible. And before anyone says typhoon, yes they are occasionally useful, but not in pve, and not often in pvp.

I eagerly await your defense of the merits of minmatar scrapheaps.

They don't look like flying golden space c*cks?
In any case, if you read the text you quoted, Napolean actually agreed with you.

Yes. And if you read what I quoted, he agreed that amarr were better for killing guristas while implying that they were worse for other things.

Capless DPS? Large Alpha Strike? Good Range? Good Falloff? Most Agile? Interchangeable/Versatile between mid and low slots? (read - hard to counter fit accurately) Able to use high damage ammo types effectively? Sure they may be skill intensive to make them shine - but you can't argue that Minmater battleships are useless and without merit.

Yes, actually I can. The only things minnie bs are good for in pve is killing angels. Even there a golem is still better, although a vargur will give it a run for its money. In pvp the mael and tempest are jokes. If you want to talk about minnie bs talk about the phoon in pvp. It's the only one that really shines.

Well, for minmatar... you could use the maelstrom, strong as hell shield tank... bleh on the dps and double bleh on the tracking... but it can be done! I mission in my maelstrom every once in a while... takes hella long though.

http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/7775-Maelstrom-quot-L4-Enemies-Abound-Part-5-quot-Runner-Cap-Stable.html Perma X-large boosting mael sounds pretty awesome for missions to me, (need the skills though, still is pretty good)
Pvp wise minmtar seems to have bcs that shine, while some bs autocannon setups do a hella lot of damage.
