Hey, can I cancel subscription for a month or so (say I went on 1 month holiday or business trip for example), and have my characters still available to me when I renew the subscription again?
Or does my account and all associated characters and items get deleted permantly?

I wonder the same, if it is so that we loose all our data, There should at least be an option to "temporatily disactivate" and our acount is deemed unplayable for a month or two at most, and is then the payment is automaticaly reactivated, and our belongings still exist. -----------------

If you cancel your account, it is held for you. You can reactivate your account by signing up again. This is what was stated to us right before release. I would double check this as info around here changes moment to moment sometimes. Ensign hyden(Mining & Transport) - Logistics Division - Hadean Drive Yards

Or do what I'm going to do. I'm gonna be away from Eve for about three weeks, so that's when I'll set my Character to working on his lvl 5 mining skill. That should be almost ready for me when I get back

Your account is saved, because it doesn't take much to store the data. This might change in the future, but if it does, it will be announced.
And even if they change it, they will probably put a 3 or 6 months cap or something for storage.

But HOW do I cancel my subscription? When I try to go into Account Management/Subscription Info I get:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'MED_GetXML_PrimaryOnly'
/include/median-interface.asp, line 174
Cant find any mail-address or anything else to use.

it just so happened I wanted to cancel my subscription because I was going away. I was intending to continue when I got back (in a few months) and wanted to cancel the sub before the free month was over.
But hey, it just so happened that the cancel section was *down* the day before the first transaction was to be made. Now the section is back up, exactly ten minutes after the transaction was made. Seems a little strange to me. That said, I don't think I'll be continuing with eve another month.
well... maybe, it depends whether I can cancel.

I is supposed to be in account management under billing info. I know that there has been some problems with it sometimes, but it has always been fixed after a short while.
I checked it, and it is working now, when I write this post btw..
