Edited by: Regus Nockta on 01/10/2004 14:35:24 Hello all,
Ive finally settled on a high slot setup that im happy with - Comination of all megapulses or mixture of tachs and siege launchers (depends on situation)
For med slots i use either all cap rechargers or 3 with a an mwd for easy rat loot collection.
Now for low im currently using 3 x 50% hardners (thermal, kinetic and explosive), a 15% adaptive one for all round, a cpu t2, and 2 x med repairers t2.
I was wondering whether id be better off scraping the existing hardning setup and using 4 of the 20% Adaptive Membranes to give all round hardening. I know that a penalty would be incurred but would any one have any idea as to what the final over hardnening would be. atm im getting between 60% and 70% damage resistance on all types.
Am i being a little over kill?
Any suggestions would be really appreciated

pvp and npc,
ive tried to use large armour repairers but they suck so much cap, am i doing something wrong, with the 2 med t2 repairers, i can sit quite happily and my cap goes up, plus i think it repaires 320 per repairer so 640 in total per cycle which is about 12 seconds (from memory)

for pvp and most mid to high level npc situations you will find that 2x medium repairers don't give enough repairing ability. So you are right, L reps suck alot more cap, but with the mediums you will most probably find you will pop with cap to spare sooner or later.
The suggested low slots look sensible.

im using 3 hardneners atm but as soon as i can use them im switching to 3 20% adaptives. This gives slightly worse tanking vs exp, thermal and kinetic damage by a % or too, but i get increased em resistance for gankageddon protection.
as for cap problems, you really shouldn't be having any, especially if you are using launchers in your setup. with 4 med slots and 2 low slot cap mods i can run 8 megapulse 2 large reps and 3 hardeners for ever. |

Thanks for the advice guys,
with a few adjustments ive managed to run the large repairers without any cap problems, however i had a play with sacrificing a med slot cap recharger for a tracking computer which made a REAL difference to what i can hit, i can hit cruiser npcs at 10km easy with multies on, only problem is i have to use 1 large repairer and a med tech 2 which still gives me almost 1000 repair points every 12 secs plus it runs with hardeners indefinately, i can now recharge 6625 cap in 288 secs,
Cheers

Low slots I am using;
x2 50% Hardners (EM & Thermal) x1 Named L Armour Repairer x1 Named M Armour Repairer x1 CPR x1 Sensor Booster II X1 Heat Sink II
Use this set-up for NPC farming and have had no probs with keeping the tank going indefinately. The Sensor booster 2 works well as I can target at 97km and blast away with radio til my hearts content.
If you are planning to farm NPC's it pays to select a system to use on a permanent basis, and spend sometime setting it up with BM's.
I have BM's at 100km above all belts. For a couple of reasons. 1st I am unlikley to warp in on top of a spawn, and 2nd the NPC's fly up to meet you, so u don't have to navigate around roids to pick up loot cans. Makes life a whole lot easier.

Your hardener setup isn't so hot. Remeber how the stacking penalty works. It goes off the lowest modifier of the attribute. So if you fit a 15% and 50% hardener for thermal you are effectively turning that 50% hardener into a 15% and then the stacking penalty is calcualted. The first mod gives its full bonus, the 2nd one gets a 25% penalty (I think) So if you take that 15% multi hardener off you will get better resists and also have a slot for a cap relay, damage mod or tracking mod.

Why do you need this? I hunt Sansha's. I always warp in at 15km. First I kill the bs. Then the cruisers. Last thing I let the doggies out to chew up frigs and inties.
2 L accos let me tank a 3 bs spawn without any problems.
... I want dessert - where is my Overlord?
