I think it would be neat to have some indication of when your autopilot's on without having that entire sidebar out. I think just changing the cap display temporarily from orange to the same shade of blue as the speed indicator when it's active would do it.

It would be neat to have some indication of when your autopilot is on without having that entire sidebar out. Actually, this neat feature is the autopilot button itself and it is right next to the indicator you wish for. So where is the point of that request? Is it too tiresome to turn your eyes an inch to the left?

He specifically asked for a way to tell if the AP is on when those buttons (sidebar) are hidden.
To the OP: Is there any reason you hide the sidebar although you actually want to see the AP button? It would be a waste of dev time if it was just for the sake of beeing able to hide those buttons.

Because of having the chat window expanded. As it stands right now, Only about 20% of my screen actually has nothing in it. I'll take a pic later today when the servers are back up.

you know you can put that control UI on the upper side now as well? Or drag it fully to the right/left side of the screen? In which it only takes away the lower 50%. Or are you running on 640x380 or something. As I don't have any problem to fit the chatwindow next to it and still got enough room for the buttons, not that those take much room ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

You can move that?
In any case, here's the pic: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/9936/sizetakeup.jpg White boxes are targeting spots. 1024x768; highest I can go.
