1st No way to transport multiple "Rigged" ships in High-Sec, freighters should be equipped with this ability, its a real pain!!
2nd This delay in changing ships when docked makes no sense, if you are going to place a delay then delay them from undocking, its a real pain!!
Otherwise EVE rocks!

1.) CPP is working the issue and are aware of it 2.) its actually every time the state of ur character changes (jump systems, dock, switch ships, eject, move places in a fleet)
its mostly to make sure the server can keep up with ur state changes cause every time u change the server needs to know about it and everyone is on one big server
another reason is so that ppl that are rly fast at ship switching could glitch the game and cause major problems in PVP
and could some one link one of those dev blogs or something about why there is the 30 second timer cause i doubt i got the whole reason ======= Homeworld Hamachi Network

I use an alt on a second account with an Orca to move my ships and stuff around. It is really handy.

Sadly Orcas can't hold battleships which happen to be the most commonly rigged ships, and they can only carry 1 rigged BC which makes using it for ship transport rather pointless. -Xindi Kraid: Delivering acerbic wit and scathing comments with just a dash of 'stab you in the eye' |

I have to state out that if you're rich enough to use a carrier as a ship transporter, why are you still transporting sub-capitals then? -

If you intend to say once you got capital ships you don't need any subcapitals anymore you have very little clue about eve and especially about the use of capital ships.
Many people even get a carrier exactly to transport their ships and themselves. That was what Agent Known was referring to first hand.

Edited by: Laxyr on 27/07/2009 16:36:48 Several solutions for the transport of rigged ships have been proposed. Yet, I have no idea if CCP is currently working on any of those.
And undocking already is delayed... Changing your ship takes 30s (+/-). If you hit the undock button immediatly after changing the ship it'll take you another 30s 'till you see your beloved space again =)

Sorry to ask in your thread, but I have a close question about this: Can a Freighter / JF transport rigged + fitted ships? Or do they have to be packaged to transport?
Thanks

You can transport multiple rigged frigate, destroyer, and cruiser hulls in a freighter if you plastic wrap them prior by using fake courier contracts.

I saw a dev post somewhere that they were working on a means to make it easier to move rigged ships. --

They could only change the session timer if they made the world seamless, at the moment its several thousand instances (ironic as so many players hate instances in Eve)

I suspect (hope?) that we'll see some kind of change to rigged-ship-transport mechanics in Apocrypha 1.5
With the changes to rigging in that patch, I'd expect to see a lot of folks flying rigged frigates, destroyers, cruisers, etc. That'll be a lot more folks trying to transport rigged ships than we've got now.

A carrier works very well nevertheless.
Most highsec systems can be reached from lowsec by 3 - 6 jumps so jumping your ship into the next lowsec will often be a matter of a few minutes (assuming your cyno ship is already in place).
In almost all cases it will be faster than flying 25+ jumps in your Battleship.
