sometimes i can login and choose char and even play eve for a wile, the most of times i can't even choose a char and i let the login screen for ours
my config
-amd barton 2.5+ -512 ddr 333 -MB asus nforce2 -radeon 9800pro
internet conection .. around 128 kbps on cable
i have the xp clean with sp2 and all updates and newest ati drivers.

(right click shortcut, hit properties, hit the compatability tab)
No harm in givin it a go eh lol

Yeah had problems after sp2 too. I can get in using win98 compatibility mode, only trouble is the game runs like a dog. Fine if you're mining, sucks if you're fighting.

There is no compatibility issue with SP2 and EVE. If you're experienceing issues, you might want to remove the extra features, like the application gateway.
In other words, turn off the XP firewall. I know of several people that run EVE flawlessly on SP2. ------------------------------ No sig is a good sig. ------------------------------ |

and now you know people who are having problems 
If the issue was in the firewall, then you would not beable to connect at all. For some reason MS have a knack of giving people strange problems. It is odd how it works fine for some and not for others, stranger things have happend at sea...
Remeber we are talking Microsoft
