For a while now i have been trying to find a good setup for my rax, and have looked back almost 150 pages on this forum for a setup for pvp and pve. What i like some1 to explain is how,why and what u need to setup the best ship for these purposes. It seems some prefere rails, some armor tank with LIGHT blasters (totally confused there) and some fit heavy blasters. What are the dis\advantages of these setups and which is prolly the best. Take into account i dont mind risking my ship if it a worthy enough cause. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination.

Light blaster damage is VERY close to medium blaster damage, but it takes a fraction of the power. This extra power allows greater armor tanking.
A light blaster setup will defeat a medium guns setup if it can get in range. Problem with the light blasters is if you can not close on your enemy, then you are toast. But its kinda hard for them to web you without letting you into 5km range. 5km is not really close enough. If you can et into 3-4km range you will rock them, if you web em to keep em close. But if they stay out of range, forget it.
Thus, its not really a good pvp setup imho. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

1 named mwd 10mn 1 webber 1 scrambler

I like your setup except I use a tech 2 med armor rep, a power diag and 2 cap relays instead of 3 dmg mods - as you'll drain the hell out of your cap w/o them especially if you dont have Gallente cruiser L5

the rails have 9km range with anti and the falloff is 6km, the DOT and tracking are good on these weapons, I've seen numbers on them posted by devs, suprisingly close to 250mm dot, and they will hit and track like blasters with the web, this ship is relatively cheap with the 'best named' items in each slot, making it extra deadly...

Do you people orbit with MWD on or something?I've never ran into any major cap problems, even though my capskills aren't great. (Energy System Ops IV/Energy Management IV)
Fight usually goes like this:
-I enter belt (If target is a raven, i hit autopilot and GTFO ) -Hit "keep at 500m" range and start speeding towards the target with MWD on, which I keep on for 2-3 cap cycles depending on how far he is. -If he hasn't locked or noticed me yet, deactivate MWD and lock straight after the last cycle. (so he doesn't instalock you) -release drones, hit F1-F5 and scramble/web as i bump into his ship.Shortly followed by armor repairer.
If its a turret battleship (npc hunter for ex.) you're now under his optimal and he's only got 8-10 drones, which are easy to tank. Only reactivate your MWD if he makes a run for it, and by then you're already into his armor/hull anyway. If its a cruiser, anything short of dual MWD is going to save him.
And if its a miner I usually curse myself for taking a criminal flag on a useless target.

Why useless? Convo him and ask if he would pay you some 10mil to keep his ship? Stay reasonable and he will.
