Greetings,
We have been around a long time. Well before beta. I've have a few thoughts lately inspired by one of our earlier welcome movies.
WELCOME TO EVE
Its not about uberness or greatness. Its about the sheer beauty of this game and the vision CCP has brought to us. There is signficant event also happening this week. The X-Prize is about to be won by Scaled Composites. A big step closer to humanity moving beyond the earth.
Now I know there is a huge mixture of players in EVE from your weekend warriors to full timers. There is always a branch of player out there that love the ideas EVE brings to play. Bored a little with things down here, day dreaming about the things up there. Take for example a miner in 0.0 who have been mining for hours.
"Are you not bored?" I asked. "Nope, I like it out here. All alone in the red glow of this empty isolated system. The serenity"
And that captures the essence of why some people play this game. The beauty of nature, its mysteries and a game that tries to emulate existence in such a realm. Day dreamers that long for humanity to stop their earthly wasteful bickering and mature enough to step beyond.
Primer Xenius 's little flash movie tries to capture some of this awe in nature.
Anyhow, we welcome all the new people to the community and are proud to be members of this fine establishment. Friends or foe, you have all made our experience here an enjoyable one. Respect to CCP and the community
Enjoy.

Not to sure now. I think it was something like 'Blue Earth' by some Orchestra. It was off some chill out CD collection (lots of trance music for er..chilling out).
Not sure exactly however.
