I have been playing EVE for roughly three years. All aspects are exciting and meaningful one way or another.
There is one aspect of the "game" which I would like to see used more, that is a cooperative between players for better PvP...here is what I mean.
Reasons some players get tired of Pvp or waiting for good Pvp
waiting two hours for a fleet to form up and four hours to find enemy to shoot.
Wars involving long boring gate or station camps
Unbalanced matchup's so your fleet runs or enemy runs from your fleet...more wasted time.
People get bored with roaming gangs that have no purpose other than pvp
For players who are tired of the above issues the idea is to have two corp's of like minded players and together we schedule Pvp events and balanced fleets.
Use a point system or FC's talk to each other to balance fleets out.
Pre-plan Pvp and events using forums. Saving time to get ships and fleets formed.
Make Pvp more interesting, have a story behind it even it is minimal. Surely there is enough creativity out there for it.
Corp's at war with each other that cooperate to maximize "fun" and minimize wasted time.
It doesn't mean that is all you do is planned Pvp, the rest of the game is still available like any other corp. However the above idea's would simply cater more to players with limited time due to RL but still want fun PVP. Also for players who are interested in balanced, planned, story line PVP.
I have heard there was attempts made before to do this, Red corp Blue corp type deal. I still think it can work and there is plenty of interest from players with minimal time to play to those wanting to go that extra step to create stories for Pvp.
Anyways, I am developing this, please contact me if you are interested in helping me get this idea going. or if you have something exactly like this started and I could help.
Thanks.

Edited by: Nursultan on 29/07/2009 07:23:50 Just a random idea that has probably also been discussed before - this could be widened to a kind of corp Fight Club. A corp get bored, joins the club, fights other corps the way you described (prearranged fights, balanced fleets), leaves when it's fed up.

Edited by: Spike Larosse on 29/07/2009 08:45:25 Well, I could see this go into either the Fight Club pretty raw PvP direction, or you could go into a somewhat RPing direction of building up a polarized community consisting of two corps fighting for dominance with some kind of common history and story progression. Ordinary members wouldn't even have to bother so much about it being planned on a "higher" level, they would just enjoy the meaningfulness of their efforts, the content and the *hopefully* more balanced, varied and interesting PvP that could come of it.
Sounds interesting, good luck with your efforts.

Edited by: Priaus Breen on 29/07/2009 10:48:47 I could see this happening. I'd be interested in joining my corp in a sort of fight club. The time it takes for players to get equipped, get fleeted and organized would still take a long time, which is where the problem lies, I believe.
Something I've thought of is just to limit fleets in these "co-operative PVP" wars to nothing bigger than cruisers, as it's generally pretty easy to fit, would lower costs to the corp, and maximize maneuverability. Plus the low cost would allow newer players to join in on the fun without having to worry whether they'd make a contribution to the fight, and would allow corps to stockpile pre-fitted ships to keep the fun going.
Just a thought...

Thanks for the positive feedback, I hope to talk with folks to get this idea into a working model and then go from there.
I will be recruiting for my corp and then if there is another corp ceo interested in working with me to develop this I would like to chat in game with you.
