I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but my corp has lived in a class 3 wh for nearly 3 weeks now and it has only spawned one Grav site that whole time.
We're there for ratting so it does'nt bother us tbh, but it does seem CCP reduced the grav site spawn rate too far in the patch
has anyone else noticed the same thing?

The longest I've been in a single wormhole thus far was about 9 days. The actual spawn rate of sites isn't that fast. After we cleaned it out we stayed 4 more days and nothing new had spawned. In other holes we've had 2 new sites pop up one day and none on others, so I think the idea that sites respawn someplace in the W-space constellation is probably correct. It's just random chance of what you get and when you get it. The last wormhole we were in had 12 (!) grav sites in it. The current one has 2, but 7 LADAR sites. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

I've also found that some wormhole systems seem to attract certain types of sites more so than others... I've scanned down countless systems, and lived in a few for longer than a week to monitor daily spawn rates.
One of them had almost daily mag sites, with 2 spawning at once one day. The other seemed to have a lot more grav sites spawning regularly.
I've also discovered wormholes with a huge abundance of grav and ladar sites, but no anomalies, where as there have been some with tons of anomalies, and not sites. Of course it might be just because someone farmed out what they wanted and left the rest, but its interesting to look at. The most recent WH system I lived in had a very regular rate of grav sites, which allowed us to mine up to 2 weeks with no waiting. We only chose to leave as we had run out of anomalies to farm.

Edited by: Nullshadow on 29/07/2009 17:13:51 I have seen speculation that sites that are not visited will stay where they are, or at least have much longer respawn timers than sites that are visited/cleared. I also know that some (perhaps many?) W-space corps skip Grav sites; the logistics of mining and moving ore is more tedious than almost anything else you can do in W-space, and the more effective a mining ship is the more enticing it is as a target for predators, too. So you may not be seeing many Grav spawns in your C3 because they are still sitting somewhere else gathering space dust.
By contrast all of the other site types are being cleared regularly, and thus would have much faster turnover and appear locally that much more often.
