Don't you hate it when a thread starts out promising and ends up just being a bunch of people discussing insurance polices?

I offered up at least 3 things that could have been shot down if someone would have put a little thought in to it.. I'm not pandering to the slack second rate trolls we seem to attract around here by making it so obvious a blind man could see it.

I hope that CCP have done this.
Because, the whiners we've had to endure for the last three years can swiftly learn what the gankers have known all along.

No, they won't. Then again, I'd go for security rating hits with any character that gives money to a negative rated player. Of course people would scream non-stop about that, on the other end. See how easy it is to make a non-newbie cry? Carebears in the closet.
Quit pretending like there any consequences people. This is a f*ckin' game. I'd eliminate insurance altogether, for EVERYONE. Then again I'd also institute skill loss on every death, end sov, end "locking down blueprints", and Concord. Obviously if there are no long-term consequences then Concord has no purpose. The skill loss thing is a just a f*ck you thing for when you die, cry more newbie. Sovereignty is a pointless mechanic they're trying to rework into something less than a complete f*ck-up. Screw sovereignty, it's wild wild outer space. You can hold it if you can defend it, 24 / 7. No jammers, none of that crap. Defend your POS at all times or it stands a chance of being nuked. Good luck. Locking down blueprints is a bullsh*t mechanic. You don't want them stolen? Don't let anyone have access to them. Oh and YOU have to eject from your ship, or you get the equivalent of podded now.
I predict utter chaos. Sure a lot of newbs will quit, but you don't care about them anyway, right? Carebears suck anyway, right?
I support the game becoming crushingly brutal. You want to know what? I'll laugh as the current suicide gankers (the lowest level of pirate) are podded into skill oblivion. Good night Gracie. Heck, corps will become small and alliances as well. You'll not invite anyone you don't absolutely trust, because if they have access to your POS (and you'll still need help to keep the thing running) they can steal your sh*t. ALL OF IT, just gone. The paranoia will run high, but it will drive out the carebears. The only people left will be the hardcore.

No more Concord also makes security rating pointless other than to show how many "murder" kills a player has. Still, I get epic lawlz if you think anyone left is going to be paying any ransom. Ransom would be a dead concept. No point in paying it after the first few people pop others anyway. The carebears will be driven out completely by these changes and the only people left will be the PvP'ers. No more big corps. No more big alliances. Theft, podding, all the time. No more T2 miners, maybe nothing more than mining frigates in most places. Heck maybe no more T2 ships at all, much less T3. Ship losses for most people would be atrocious, and no insurance to cover the losses. Mineral prices, and therein ship component prices and ships themselves, would skyrocket because nobody is safe to mine even veld. Basically everything would be 0.0 space. Great fun, no whiny carebears anywhere. Yeah, the big corps / alliances might hold on a bit. They'll succumb though, because the basest human nature is the idea of getting away with something will come to fore. So they'll have money, and BPO's, and ships, and POS stolen or betrayed.
Completely grind the game down to chaos. Capsuleers are above everything after all. No more law. No safety net. Oh, and corp / alliance wars are free. I forgot that. Eve with Capsuleers that are truly above real consequence, unless they die.

In all seriousness, even the most blood thirsty among us realizes that without concord eve would die a very horrible death. I'd agree with the reduction in size of highsec, and more (small) highsec pockets in lowsec to try and encourage people away from highsec, but without it new players wont get past their trial and without new players eve dies.

Why? Aren't there enough PvP'ers to keep it afloat? What is this Carebear Online? Oh wait, you don't like the idea of becoming a target 24/7. I mean, we're all Wild Wild Outer Space here right? Capsuleers are above everything right? Put up or shut time. Point in fact that if you think the changes I listed would cause the game to end then you "pirates" need carebears more than they need you. Therein should STFU about insurance and your purported consequences. I say purported consequences because I'm guess most, if not nearly all, have alts feeding them money.

u mad?
In all seriousness, OP did you take out a platinum insurance policy? Check out your eve mails from the SCC. It's possible you only secured a basic policy. I have suicided a 'geddon or two, and I've always gotten a platinum payout (66m). I'm also sure of paying for a platinum policy when I insure my ships.

Is it just me, or did you guys keep the thread going for 4 more days after the OP admitted to being a dumbass?
its either that, or I just got trolled... though with the people in C&P, I think the former is the answer =======================================

Insurance is a game mechanic, not a business.
CONCORD was already balanced by shortened response times. No more changes are needed.
in fact i think oposite should have been made. Concord should be slow to respond (at least in 0.6 and 0.5 systems). But should be NO insurance at all.

Agreed.. Timing should be something like this.
1.0 - Insta dead (It is after all 1.0) 0.9 - 3-5 seconds 0.8 - 5-10 seconds 0.7 - 10-20 seconds 0.6 - 20-30 seconds 0.5 - 30-60 seconds
30 seconds is a LONG time in this game.. The range would mean that people cant calculate exactly the amount of force they need without wasting too much isk.. No insurance payout for concording at all (you broke the law).

Insurance in game should be more like RL. You pay every 1/3/6/12 months, you have a long ass list of things you can't have done to get paid for your accident, rates fluctuate based upon your driving record (ship losses), and their customer service sucks. ♥

As long as they don't include 'illegal modifications' or 'driving while under the influence' (boosters) then yeah, why not.. Actually, no.. screw it... Boosters void your insurance, rigs void your insurance, T3 voids your insurance... What else?
Edit: Oh I just thought of one.. You don't get your isk for another 6-8 weeks (make that days in game) after the accident.

Upon ship loss you have to report it to your insurance agent and wait around 3hrs for the ****er to show up and take pics of the scene.
Your record also determines the cost of insurance for all your ships.
Oh and the fun part, insurance is absolutely mandatory for all t1 ships in high sec, passing through a high sec system without insurance will get you pulled over (web/scrammed at gate/station) and cited. ♥
