So I had a really great idea! What if EVE had like the hunger games battle royale fight to the death!?!
There are many ways this could be implemeted, but I'm thinking that maybe 50 random (active) characters should be chosen from the entire EVE playerbase, to enter an arena royale. If you choose not to, then it will be rerolled, and some other lucky guy will be picked.
Anyone who loses this battle royale must forfeit 5% of their SP. The one and only winner could get neat stuff like collectors items, some SP, or anything else. All pilots fly pods modified to have like 10 second align times. Perhaps gates can only be warped to at 15km, as well. You lose when you are pod killed.
It'll be streamed, of course, in Jove Space. Players will be able to sponsor the (un)lucky pilots with ammunition, modules, ships, etc. Everyone will start in rookie ships, surrounding a big clump of faction battleships. The more foolhardy ones can attempt to get the faction battleships, in what will be a bloodbath. Other ships will be scattered throughout the systems.
