Hi,
Whats the best way to figure out the optimal ME lvls for BPOs?
ATM I'm trying to find out the lvls for
1) Thoraxs 2) Vexors 3) Orcas
Any help would be great.
Thanks

10,10,1 though TBH 5,5,1 would be good enough... unless your going to stuff it in for 1 months worth anyway [waste] -- RaTTuS @ InEve, Capital Prints for sale |

IMO if you get them to 12 that will do fine none of this ME 100 BS

Edited by: OwlManAtt on 30/07/2009 10:17:17 You can use this to look up a blueprint. Find your desired blueprint - for instance, the Thorax Blueprint - and look down at the ``Research Levels'' section.
We can see that the ``perfect'' ME for a Thorax BP is ~105. This would take you eight hundred years of research to achieve.
With ME, the first few levels have a dramatic effect on the waste, and then they start having diminishing returns. With ships, ``optimal'' is fine. With something such as ammo, you can research it to ``perfect'' in a much shorter amount of time.

Really it depends if you also want to sell on the reseached BPO, or sell copies, as the higher the ME the more 'attractive' it can be to the buyers.
Personally, I like to put most ships in for at least a full month of ME, that gives most frigs an ME of about 24, cruisers ME19, BC's ME 11, not sure about the BS prints but I'd think maybe ME5/6.
Occasionally if I've got a spare research slot thats doing nothing or if im away on a holiday I might drop them in for another round of ME.

This. 5-10 is sufficient on most sub cap ships. I tend to do 30 for modules and ammo.
Material Levels above that are pretty much only to obtain a higher sale price for the print. ML100 attracts a much higher price than ML10, despite the vast number of units you'd need to sell just to recoup the difference in research costs.
