I say Mammoth. I have now Iteron V and the great cargospace but I still love my Mammoth. One of the best looking ships in the game

The Wreathe looks like a slightly rustier version of Thomas the Tank Engine. Choo-choo!

the mammoth is the best looking indie. I loved mine, and I could tank it.
I went through so many bestowers, but I kept the same mammoth for months.
The only love in prison is the kind cigarettes can buy. |

The Mammoth is not only the best looking indy in the game, dare I say, it's one of the best looking ships in Eve altogether. Too bad it's not a battleship...

I hear the next new model SUV from GMC is going to look very similar to the Mammoth
the rest of them already look like Badgers
I dunno, the Mammoth isn't really bad looking or anything, but it looks much too archetectural to really suit my fancy...
I much prefer elegant designs and something with a curve here and there...
the Bestower isn't that great an indy performance wise (at least not for really serious long term indy use I mean) but it's got some sculpting to it...
also, while not an indy, the Dominix is pretty neat looking too... kind of reminds me of a Christmas ham with thrusters :D lol
mmmmmmmm ham...

I remember the first time I saw a Mammoth.
I was in my probe and one comes out of warp right behind and above me.
I nearly wet my pants, I thought it was a battleship!
This was back in Beta phase 5 I think. --------------------------------------------------

/agree. I have thought many times while moving my indy around that the Minmatar BS would look really good with the Mammoth skin. By mounting the guns on the top of the ship, it would look almost like a BS from RL.
mmmmmmmmmm . . . high caliber death - Bunny is not currently here. He is on a SpecOps mission to kill the leader of a small third world country, the first step on the road to world domination. |

Would they be freighters? Apparently, they are going to be massive indies that can only load/unload in station, but with massive m¦. Maybe between Shiva and Kali.
We'd definetly need these for the larger build projects. For instance, all the ore needed for a titan or POS (not starbases) would be mined over a constellation then shipped to one station using a freighter. That's how i'd imagine them to work anyway.

I believe you're thinking of the Ore Mining Barges...
I'm not sure if they will be classified as a type of industrial or get their own classification as a Mining Barge...
and until we get some more concrete stats on them we don't really know in what ways they will equal or surpass current heavy mining options...
like what bonuses they have, what skills they take, what cargo/drone capacity they have, how many turrets and with what fitting bonuses/effects, as well as a laundry list of other things...
the main thing that the devs have hinted at is that the Ore "L" Mining Barge will surpass even the Apocalypse in mining capability, which if true would absolutely ROCK! but they don't really say how it will do so...
it may have and equal number of turrets or more...
it may have fewer turrets but with a mining laser yield bonus attached to make each one like multiple on any other class of ship...
it may have more drone space as well as bonuses to their speed and yield...
it may also have more cargo space than normally possible on an Apoc too, thus allowing for larger "bites" to be stored before docking or putting it into a container (secure or otherwise)...
also, while unlikely, it may have a bonus to "reduce" the volume consumed by ore so that in effect, it can hold much more ore than it should be able to... like 25% with max Mining Barge skill reduction for instance... although that is fairly unlikely...
while I'm not sure how the Ore "L" Mining Barge will be better than the Apoc, it will ofcourse have to be able to match 8 mining beams as well as 10 drones at once, and actually a bit more if it is truly better... so it's DEFINATELY something to be interested in...
let's just hope the skill to fly a Mining Barge isn't like a class 25 skill and you have to have level 5 in it just to get in a "L" type
I doubt that will be the case though since they want to draw people out of the Apocs/Armas/Megas/Dominix mining ships so not only will the ship have to be better at mining, it will also have to be reasonably skill set so that you don't have to train in it for a month just to fly the most rinky dink level much less the ones that are supposed to replace the BS-miners...
here's hopeing for lots of good things

He was not thinking of mining barges but indeed freighters which as said, can not be loaded and unloaded in space, only in stations.
As for the best looking indy, as someone who has flown ALL of them, I still think the Wreathe looks absolutely wonderful!
The mammoth is indeed scary looking and mean but nothing outperforms my Iterons.

The Mammoth is nice, but I'll agree it seems more of a battleship in styling. Personally I find the Iteron 5 has the best freighter look. One look at it and there's no mistaking it was made to haul agent trash-- and lots of it.
