Dispite many attempts to solve these questions I have yet to get straight provable answers.
1) Respawn rate: It's slow, we know that. It might be connected to what I call the "whack a mole" concept where a person pushes down a site in one hole and the same site pushes back up in another site. Despite popular believe that this is indeed how it works I have yet to see proof. Can it be proven? The signature IDs change over a downtime so you can not use those to aid in proving the whack a mole theory. The only way to prove this out is to find a developer posting stating that this is how it works.
Otherwise NO THEORY is accurate but we could get close! If you wish you can keep track of what spawns and the approximate time that it spawns in your wormhole. Give us the Locus signature of your hole as well. If a LOT of people did this then over a very long time while keeping as accurate records as possible we COULD correlate when one site "dies" and it becomes "reborn" somewhere else. We would need a lot of players keeping these records. If you have plans to stay for longer than a month, you should keep these records and post them here, or give them to me by contacting me in game.
2) Wormhole variable effects. Are POSs affected? Someone look at their POS shield hit points if you are in a Pulsar variable and let me know. Do Sleepers get affected? I've seen and heard evidence of it going both ways. I can not definitivly lock that answer down. There is a variable that increases your damage output. Someone needs to record the damage done to them by a sleeper, then go to another wormhole with the EXACT SAME SHIP AND FIT that has that variable and let themselves get hit by the EXACT SAME Sleeper ship type. Make it the SAME CLASS of wormhole as well (just to be sure to eliminate that as a possible variable). The answer could be solved once and for all if someone was able to do this.
3) Spawn site difficulties. It is proven that the likelyhood of on type of spawn (Core Bastion for example) will only spawn in a Class 6 hole. It's the top of the line. In 6 months we have never had a Perimeter anything spawn in our Class 5. So it is true that the difficulty of the site you get depends on the class of wormhole. The question is, however, is my Core site in my class 5 more or less difficult than YOUR Core site in a Class 6 or Class 4 wormhole?
To answer this we need only ship count and ship types. Please be very accurate. You must do a specific site in two different wormholes that have the same variable (or no variable at all is fine too). If it matters what class of hole it spawns in then my Core site will have say, 15 ships if it spawns in a Class 5 but YOUR Core site will have say, 10 ships if it spawns in a class 4. This is only moderatly difficult to prove.
There might be other difficult unanswered questions about wormholes but those 3 keep popping up. I have done my best in the Everything Wormhole guide but I can only do so much.

1) Yes, I believe wormhole sites respawn in the same manner as k-space exploration sites; and from looking at the systems which compose a typical wormhole constellation, I think these sites are respawning randomly within class groups, not within the same constellation.
2) POSs and POS structures are not affected by wormhole effects.
3) tbh, I don't want to answer this last one; there are a lot more people doing wormholes now than there were 2-3 months ago and profitability has already taken a hit. We've adapted our tactics to compensate but a lot of that knowledge is hard earned. I'd like to sit on it for a bit more. It would not take much to test your hypothesis, though.

The one thing I can say for certain on Class 1/2 holes is that Class 1 holes do not seem to spawn battleships while Class 2 holes do with the same site names. We had an Uncommon Core Deposit (grav site) pop up in a class 2 about a week back, and it had a pair of cruisers up from the first moment, but the later guards were all frigates. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

For that Core Uncommon Grav site, do you remember the approximate quantity of ore per mercoxit or the highest end ore it gave? I am wondering if the TYPE of ore is set, but the QUANTITY is less for easier holes.
POSs do NOT get wormhole bonuses, got it (that would make a lot of sense too). How about the sleepers?
Can someone find documentation on K-space exploration mechanics, specifically refering to the "whack a mole" concept?
So, it would also seem that the class of ship shifts from C1 to C6 but the NUMBER of ships is the same? If it has a SAVE button...I'm not interested. |

It had no Mercoxit, 4 Arkonor (5000 units per), 6-8 Bistot (5000 per), 2 Crokite (10,000 per I think) and though it had all the lower ones I never checked the actual density. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |
