Edited by: Scott Ryder on 31/07/2009 09:12:40 I need to go into a low security system with my nighthawk to finish a storyline, yesterday I was scanned down so i warped out. Today I want to finish the mission (another part of the mission but in same low security system) I therefore need a pvp setup that is viable. I canĈt use mwds as the mission is located in dead space. I can use most t2 modules I can fit on a nighthawk. How would you fit it? IĈm not sure if I should use active tank or passive tank, can I please get a good setup?
Alternates are drakes or caracels (its a lvl 3 mission)

Use a Drake, if you get ganked the ISK lost will be a lot less.
Honestly though, if they're gonna come in to engage you in your NH / Drake they will have more than plenty to take you on and kill you. You're better off not engaging at all (ie. stay aligned out) or getting friends in Logistics / Falcons to surprise them when they come in. The last bit could be awesome if you got your Logistics & Falcons set up beforehand at range. Due to the nature of the mission and no MWDs they would have an insanely hard time to reach them in time (especially if you have them webbed around the warpin point).
Fit your Drake to a standard LSE / Resists / BCUs / Heavies and the best you can hope for is driving anyone off if they don't bring the right ships for the job (this is very unlikely). If you want you could fit a web to help a little bit, but meh.

I'd use a Drake, don't risk your PvE NH.
Use the defualt HAM Drake imo:
7 HAM II
1 MWD 1 web 1 scram 1 LSE II 2 Invul II
3 BCU II 1 DC II
3 CDFE (optional, but makes tank very nice)
Since its dead space use an AB, and a 24 km point, or use HM II as well if thats where your skill set is.

NH is over 200 M ISK, drake is 30 M ISK, difference is minimal - absolutely no reason to get NH for pvp over Drake.

I've seen one exception to this rule, download "The_rocket_wizardry" from EVE files what that guy does with the NH is absolutely amazing.

Fun watching the vid, but hardly a viable setup in most scenarios. He did fight a lot of fail ships tho
I mean, that figh in teh belt with BS and all, omg, how fail are thoose guys? can't even kill and neut one little NH
To make such a setup work, you must first have teh appropriate billions for a crystal implant as well.

It's standard Vaga piloting in a NH. :) --- I smack just for myself.
