CCP said Inferno is grat expansion ever with tons of changes etc , it was realy big around 900mb most weight of this patch is wired ui changes and missile grafic + tons of bugs, in next year expect 1.5gb (patch) upgarde caled another EPIC expansios with new feature like animated fiting window, and maybe nebulas background lifting, you may expect wall of text in patch notes about nothing, I wont buy this bulishit anymore. Here is nothig worth to be excited or waiting.
COME ON! whole year work about what ? this small buged addon who anoyion people ? some company can made entire F2P MMOs form zero to finished product in two year , while CCP need a lot time to made simple unfinished full of bug Patch caled expansion, and they dare caled it SUPER EXPANION!!!!!. What exacly is this expansion? A ****** killmail statistic copy form existed killboards ?
Summer or Winter expansion always sound so proud, while is self they are just normal patch with full of bugs.
Ps.Remove 200+ topic caled WIS this topic is only about broken promise, and players dreams. |

The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

The original EVE took about 6 years to develop iirc.
What we have today has another 9 years stacked on top of it.
What other games out there have expansions that update graphics engines and quality and continually add new features and UI parts on top of the existing code for the game?
The only one I can think of that comes close is Minecraft while it was in beta. The Drake is a Lie |

OP its always the same.
Everytime a new expansion is released there is a wall of moaning and ragequits that last for a week until everything goes back to normal. And the vast majority who dont post are perfectly happy with what is going on.

World of Warcraft? Lord of the Rings Online? Any kind of long standing game is going to try and improve the engine, graphics, add new features and improve the UI if they're interested in keeping making money, that is.
Usually you don't scrap the code every expansion.

Admittedly I haven't played either but can you show any significant examples where the graphic quality changed on a level on par with Incarna's new turrets or Inferno's missiles and another example featuring a UI change that also was part of a re-factoring of backend code where neither of the examples had issues? I'd hate to really downplay the graphical update but games, especially older MMOs go through this all the time because nobody wants to play an ugly game, right? Lord of the Rings completely revamped a lot of their graphics a few years ago adding Direct X 11 in, tessellation and all the fancy lightning, shadows that come with that.
I haven't played a game yet that's needed a serious UI revamp so I won't try and say I have experience with it, but World of Warcraft developers still tweak with theirs even though it's one of the more used UI sets for "themepark" MMOs. |

The original Everquest effectively completely replaced its graphics engine, following it up with, well, completely replacing their user interface.
Dark Age of Camelot. Graphics update, UI replacement.
From the dawn of time, MMOs have been a) upgrading the graphics engine/quality, and b) updating their user interfaces.

My point with this is that are they glitch free after said updates as well? In every game community I've been a part of there is ALWAYS a group of people that get some sort of horrible bug and point fingers at every other game dev company saying that they didnt have to get this sorta **** from them.
CCP thus far as has actually been the most receptive to the feddback loop and the on going dialogue. They could always do more or do it more efficiently, they they do actually talk to us like real people, mostly cause real people are who we're talking to, not just some community manager that knows nothing about what the devs do nor does he understand a damn thing the community is yelling about. Might as well be the stereotypical customer service guy that everyone hates so much. But then again even the occasional GM that pops in is more cordial then that.... The Drake is a Lie |

This is only true because there and indy comp and this is there only revenue stream. If/when that changes expect them to as well, like they almost did.
I would like to get at least one more expansion in my time in eve before I move on. Its been for me now 4 years, its hasn't been all bad WH's FW those are expansions and I was there. This right now is a fix for FW. Problem is that at some point people allowed stuff like bloodlines, Quantum Rise and Dominion which were tweaks/overhauls of existing systems to be called expansions of content. So this is what you get your standard media/marketing jargon were some one sells you some thing buy using words not actual things.
The part that has always got me is this, I don't need an expansion every 6 months. I would be fine with once a year or even 18 months and some thing big that changes how we play and think about the game. Some thing that brings us all together so we can rip each other apart. But what keeps happening is patch's that bend things till they break then over hauls, they can make us think but most often just drive us apart, from each other, CCP, and the game it's self. Some times they put sprinkles on it, orca flavored or tier 3 BC flavored but its still a patch I can tell buy the texture and content that its the same. It still kinda our fault tho, we took our car in to get fixed and the mechanic fixed it and told us it was an entirely brand new car and we believed it. I am in Factional Warfare. Have been from day one.-á-áI will never work for a mega corp in null-sec. Do not make FW like null-sec. Were is the FW exclusive frigate sized ship? I see the cruiser and battle ship.......... |
