Hi there, I searched the forums but could not find this issue having being raised before (I posted this on the regular issues bord but was told to post it here instead)
Whenever I do exploration with probes and launch them (active star map) there is a good chance (around ca. 30% I guess) that the launched probe's sphere does not display arrows/center cube. The sphere appears without arrows but reacts normal to probe range resizing via dragging the sphere perimeter. This is odd bc the other spheres remain normal. Sometimes this happens just in one probe every 4-5 times, sometimes twice in a row. Of course its a nuisance you can't move around the sphere bc of the missing arrows, so I have to call back the probe and relaunch it, which makes probing even more tiresome. Any idea to solve this problem?
Not sure if this is a Mac specific problem or not. Looks like a grafic glitch/bug to me.
My specs are:
iMac 20", 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR3 RAM Mac OS 10.5.7 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 / 256MB
Thanks

I don't have a full solution to the problem, but an easier workaround is to toggle the probe on/off (There's a little checkbox next to each probe in the scan window). Sometimes it takes a few times but eventually the arrows come back. Little bit nicer than having to relaunch and reposition.

Thanks for the hint - the workaround is a good way to limit the nuisance level of this glitch :) It worked quite well, the arrows appear after deactivating/activating the probe.

I have the same problem, on a Mac. On/Off is my solution too but it's kinda annoying.

Same same...
Also, when I get three probes detecting the same signature, I get only one colored dot on the map, not two like I've seen on the Windows client.
Anybody noticed this too?

That's actually a general client bug, it happens on Windows too. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

Good news - this is being looked into! Don't stop creating bug reports about it, though.
In the meantime, the workaround regarding toggling probes off and on is your best bet at the moment.

oh so after apoc 1.5 i can give probing another shot.
last time with the b0rken UI i need more than 30 mins to probe s.th. but i only needed like 5 mins handling probes to get bored/annoyed by it and stopped.
now all that's need is the feature to save probe placements for various scan ranges to get rid of the tedious probe grinding :P

Funny, the very first probe I launched with the new patch displayed the same old bug (no probe arrows). It seems it's still there...

Hi, just so you guys know, this was not scheduled for a fix in Apocrypha 1.5.
What we said was that we're looking into it and we will announce a fix when we have one.
