Some stations have 3+ agents you can run at the same time. There are places where ALL these agents give, on a fairly regulat basis, expensive T2 component rewards. A 100 Graviton Reactor award is, what, 20 mil+ ?
Plus implant drops, of course.

I got a labslot the other day when I docked. I do random checks now and then and get slots occasionally. If you really want one then you can find one with a little work. If you really really really want one then you can buy one (from a reputable person) in real estate channel.
Remember when buying though to ask around in the real estate channel about the person selling. Only buy from known persons. Never buy from a non-corped person and never from a person in a very small corp or newly created corp and never ever from a 1 day old char in a newbie corp 
Pay half up front and half afterwards.

1. Lab slot prices are increasing to make owning them by horders less and less lurcrative.
2. POS (Player Owned Stations) in Shiva will allow players to make their own Research outpost - either corps can use them themselves or rent them to other players.
