I recently moved cities and had to take my desktop computer apart. I have a Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 with two monitors plugged into it. It is in a DualView configuration.
Before I took may computer apart, I could open EVE in windowed mode and drag it across both monitors or even have it display on both at the same time without any performance drop. I think with one client open it'd get about 100-150 FPS.
I put my computer back together and now if I open EVE in windowed mode and part of the EVE window is on the other monitor, the FPS drops to about 6 and the whole computer chugs. If the EVE window is not on the other monitor, it works fine.
In the EVE options menu, on the display & graphics tab, there is two options in the Display Adapter drop down box: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 1 and NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 2. If I move the EVE window to the screen that it has terrible performance on and change the display adapter, it will work fine (until you move it back to the original screen and it does the same thing as before).
Before I took my computer apart, I think there was only one option in the Display Adapter drop down box.
Anyone know what is going on here? I think it has something to do with the video card having two framebuffers and having to copy pixels from one to the other or something. What setting do I change to get it back to how it was so I can drag EVE windows across both monitors? |

I'm at work at the moment and my memory isn't good enough to remember exactly where this is, but you might want to look at your nview settings. Taking you PC apart and then putting it back together could have caused these to change, maybe to a default value, so it might be worth having a look at how it is set for two monitors. From memory, flawed as it might be, there is a choice of how you want multiple monitors treating. Might be worth a look, might not, but it won't waste too much of your time even if it doesn't solve the problem. :)
