I had such a crappy expirience yesterday. I had a easy mission (deadly duo) with 2 Predators. So I warp to my spawn point and next thing I see is a 2 week old kid in a Rifter kicking some angel hijacker's butt. Then I realize that he is under 40k from my spawn and I start seeing transversal speed of spawn which I just locked is in 200-300m/s (meaning they are moving not towards me but after him). Pretty hard to hit with 1400mm at this speed. I move in closer and start launching my 4 heavy missles, but it was too late. Rifter blows up got caught by surprise.
Now, i understand that it is too much to ask to separate spawn points of different difficilty levels misions, but i felt like **** for this guy's loss. Are you even looking into it? I mean, have a low skilled player on that frigate he just bought with his money he spent a day to work for end up in situation where he has a Mordus spawn drop on his head and waste him in sec is just sucks.

Hey Siroc...
That sucked. Send him over to TPG and I'll hook him up with a new rifter and some equipment...

Yeah... Also don't put mission spawns near gates. Other players sometimes kill the NPCs for you, and can run away with the required items needed to complete the mission.
I'm in 0.0 space doing some pirate NPC missions, and I was doing some easy lvl2 agent missions in an apoc setup for insta-killing frigs. I get to the gate, the mission spawn is 30km away, but as soon as I get there an NPC BS spawns at the gate along with some cruisers, only 40km away from me. Obviously I got the hell out of there and went back to the station to fit some mega pulses to take care of the BS, and by the time I get back they unspawned... So I just killed the frigs with mega pulses... ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

i spoke to him and left him loot from the spawn i destroyed. Hopefully there was some good items. He was not overly ****ed over that loss, so I assumed it was not his last money he lost. It could be worse though. I just think it is a big oversight.

Yes, I think that needs to be adressed, especially before Shiva. I' just starting to try out level 4 missions on singularity, and I wouldn't like to warp into a spawn with (for example) a 500K Mordus BS escorted by 8 heavy cruisers and three of the scrambling Bounty Hunters unprepared, and even less if I was a newbie on a level 2 mission.

Now, I know that some mission spawns only attack either the person actually doing the mission or anybody that attacks them first. Is this not the case for all missions ? If not, why not ?

Not just for different agent levels, each and every mission spawn should be at a random point. In some of the more popular mission spots I have seen 3 missions on going at the same time, try sorting out 2 Mordu spawns and a blockade mission at the same time.
Its just plain silly.
