It's not only your arma mate, whatever ship I use (not only but especially after changing ships) I get the phenomenal cap behaviour.
This is what I encountered: - There are 2 kinds of bugs it seems, the visual and the real thing - The visual one is just the cap indicator going mad and no real effect on the game; cap either counts down and then back again - The "active" bug is whats the real problem, besides the visual indications, using modules, warping, and various cap involved actions eat up more than they should, or the cap has an unnatural recharge time making it never drain, independent from the usage - Docking and/or changing system fixes the bug (though not always - I flew 3-4 jumps with the "active" cap bug on) - Relogging does not change the situation most of the time, since it seems the server has the attributes/behaviours of your ship already saved until its reloaded on to the server (I think downtimes are an expection)
Now I know communication with GMs shouldn't be posted on the forums but a friendly warning to all pilots can't hurt: DO NOT EXIT YOUR SHIP WHILE EXPERIENCING THE CAP BUG I exited from my ship thinking boarding back into it would fix the problem, I sat 2 hours next to my ship that had no "Board Ship" option in the right-click menu until a GM transported it to a nearby station!
I'm sure the DEVs are working on it but increasing its priority might be a good idea

this bug occurs most often when undocking, the first thing that uses cap causes cap to empty, redocking and undocking fixes it, but still annoying. |

docking and undocking fixes it *sometimes* jumping fixes it *sometimes* relogging fixes it *sometimes*
depending on which version of the bug you have.
*sometimes* noting fixes it, and your only option is to log off and come back a few hours later
the only sure thing about this bug is that it will get you killed sooner or later, and *hopefully* ccp have it at top priority, as it does make the game unplayable, but I wouldnt hold out too much hope for that

I just lost a Maller with several decent items mounted because of the cap bug. Had a 100MN afterburner on it. One activation of the AB would drop my cap down to about 62%. Now I have a cap of 1700 on that Maller. It was frelling ridiciulous. Basically because of this, I didn't have enough cap to get away, and was presently ganked by a couple of Venal Rangers. And yes, I did indeed get podkilled too. So it cost me a new clone as well. I'm not pleased. Ya Hya Chouhada!!! |

It happens to me most often after undocking from station. My ship will warp for <20AU before needing the cap to recharge. This sometimes get fixed by jumping to another system.
The old cap bug caused modules to use 5x more than they should. It disappeared for awhile now seems to be back again. --------------

Flamin' bug cost me my Maller yesterday. Lost my LiF AB, which really hurt. My cap never, and I mean never, gets below 25% and that's on a nasty mission, but on 1st spawn of Mordu's when it showed 50% guns, and more importantly, Armour reps disabled and I didn't have enough cap to warp out. Petitioned and the matter is being looked into. I've been playing the game for about a year and a half now, so I'm not too hacked off that this is the only real bug I've found, however that doesn't make it any easier to swallow having found it!

the prob is
if u have the visual BUG. U don¦t know at which point ur cap is low.
at sabotaged Mission, a try to keep them at range by using my MWD.. BUT with this bug, i don¦t see the point when cap goes down to 15 % so i can deactivate the MWD.
if i have this bug, my CAP is mostly low (near 0).
i know the Dev¦s working hard on Shiva now. but someone must fix this. Cause it isn¦t funny if u lose a ship through this kind of a "feature" ____________________________ [ 2005.03.31 20:53:50 ] (mining) Your Basic Miner perfectly strikes Veldspar Roid, wrecking for 20 Ore units.

Ok heres some tips to at least work with it. I get both types of bugs the actual capr drain, and just the visual bug.
Now to me they look the same, say a few hardeners and a Med repairer keeps me at ~50% if I leave them on.
You can tell the differance pretty quickly, simply activate everything you can and see what happens when your cap dies. If everything is still runnning, then you only have the visual bug. Also important to notice, does your cap do wierd things like fill up then drain in a matter of 30 seconds? If not then its a combination of the two bugs. If it does crazy things then your fine, and if you set up runs forever then it will do so anyways.
If it A doesn't do wierd things (cap gauge)or... B Stops your mods running. You have the real cap bug, where you fill run out of cap well before you should. Also somtimes you get a combination of the two where you will have an empty cap guage for a while, but you will run out eventually, even on infinite set ups, just the guage shows as empty before your cap has drained

Happens always to me when boarding another ship in space without eject. Large armor repairer uses 1200cap instead of 400cap. And my cap is flashing with white lights.

Edited by: Sternburg Export on 07/10/2004 09:53:18 Currently i have this Bug, when i enter a new system...
in my starting sys (where the agent is located) all is fine. if i make the first jump in the next system nothing is fine.
Jumping back to starting sys, all is fine again... thats the buggiest Bug i ever had in a game. this bug seems to depend on the system where i¦m in. Making 2-3 Jumps with this bug. then all is fine again. reentering this systems will show the Problems again.
But this isn¦t logical.
And i¦m not one of the dev¦s... Maybe a Dev shouldt respond to this topic. And say there point of view. it will be interessting for all
Sry for my spelling but i¦m german. so i can better write in german what i think. I hope u understand me ____________________________ [ 2005.03.31 20:53:50 ] (mining) Your Basic Miner perfectly strikes Veldspar Roid, wrecking for 20 Ore units.

Well after my petition regarding my ship loss (see earlier) this was the reply: I'm sorry for the late reply.
I'm also sorry to say that we will not be able to replace your ship or items. Before we can replace any ships, items or ISK we must be able to fully verify that a bug or server problem directly caused the loss and there is no way for us to do that here. Our combat logs don't show anything out of the ordinary and the server logs show that EVE was running smoothly around the time this happened. It is impossible for us to say for sure what happened so there isn't much we can do. Hopefully you'll recover from your loss quickly. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again. We'll do all we can to help.
I mean come on, I suffer from a bug and this is the answer? OK I 'only' lost a cruiser so it wasn't hard to 'recover the loss' but what if it had been a BS? Or worse, an elite frig/cruiser with a pitiful insurance payout? How can their combat logs have nothing wrong with them, my cap wasn't working? I know we've been waiting for Shiva for a long time and with the hype they have to roll it out soon but if this carries over it'll have to be a bloody good expansion to keep me playing all 3 of my accounts

mmmmmkay yeah... except, no, see? If CCP starts giving ship-refunds to everyone why crys "cap bug!" then every time a little nublet sets up his ship like a POC and ends up burning through his cap in 15 seconds and screams "Cap bug" they basicly have to refund him. and besides, it is possible that the capacitor bug is entierly client-side for all I know, and therefor won't show up in their logs now will it? |

hi it¦s me again...
Yesterday. me and 2 of my corpmates had this bug in the same 2 systems We had to Escort a Mark V and we all had this ****ing Bug in the same systems.
All got only the Visual bug.
CCP it¦s seem this bug really depends on the systems. and it looks like the Bug is "Walking" arround DT seems to fix it in one system. But it comes up again in another. ____________________________ [ 2005.03.31 20:53:50 ] (mining) Your Basic Miner perfectly strikes Veldspar Roid, wrecking for 20 Ore units.
