This phone looks pretty cool and I really like that it has the open source Android operating system on it. On Android Market, everybody can put up their apps without some corporation (like Apple) saying what apps can be there and which ones cant.
Have a look at these pictures, I love the look myself: http://www.trustedreviews.com/images/article/inline/11550-htcheroimg6big.jpg
Ive heard its a bit sluggish but people say its no more sluggish than the IPhone 3GS. Anyone tried it?

HTC has a horrible tendency to make their interfaces
1. Not take up majority of the screen 2. Too black 3. Too shiny
That goes for their Windows Mobile phones, and seemingly the Hero too.
Hence, I got the 3GS instead of the Hero, even if it was more expensive.
And the 3GS is hardly sluggish. It's faster than my windows PC, as far as I'm aware. It feels snappy.

Edited by: Angor on 06/08/2009 16:37:57 Does it suffer from the usual HTC device battery life problems?
Also shape must cause some uncomfort in pocket? _______________________________ [ 2007.06.07 21:07:22 ] FrankyWave > ransom me guys I am joining XElas !!! |

Not at all my battery lasts all day with moderate use, with me using it over wifi, bluetooth, browsing amd calls ect, i have downloaded a power manager tho, it has significantly upped the battery up time. as the first day or so it was only lasting a few hours.

WinMo has allowed you to install any apps you like for years before apple even invented the iphone. Hell their most recent gen only just got voice dialling. Symbian too. -------------

Personally I'm waiting for the Samsung I7500 Galaxy before I pick up on Android. The only thing the Hero has on it is the nice Teflon coated shell and SenseUI (but I hear Google will be adopting some of it as standard in Android in an upcoming release).
For the last 4 years I've used WinMo. I will agree that it is rather flexible, but it suffers from interface design problems because MS is too tied to their desktop paradigms. I don't need context menus and buried options to do everything. Hmmm sounds like another piece of software we all use
