Sorry for the maybe stupid question, but I am new to this:
Quote:There are eight beacons in the system, which serve as start off points. Four beacons are marked for Team 1 and four marked for Team 2. The teams must assemble at any of the four beacons designated for their team. Once the word is given, teams warp in to the at a range of their choosing, up to a maximum of 50 km. Team members are allowed to warp in at different ranges. The arena will measure 125 km radius around the central beacon.
First part: how are these beacons positioned? Can they be seen on the system map? Can someone provide a sketch? If I understand it coorectly, the beacons determine from which direction a team will warp into the arena?
Second: "teams warp in to the at a range of their choosing, up to a maximum of 50 km" There is a word missing. Does it mean "warp in to the CENTRAL BEACON"? I.e. I can warp right to the center of the arena or up to 50 km away, but not to the very edge of the arena? If both teams warp to 0km, will they be at point blank distance? And depending on the initial choice of starting beacons, is it possible that 2 teams both choose to warp to 50km and end up on top of each other? Or will they be always at 100km from each other?

You're not told upfront how the beacons are positioned. Yes, they can be seen on the system map.

Yes.

Yes, yes, and no.
From some of your questions, it seems that you haven't watched any matches from previous tournaments. I highly recommend doing so. |

Actually I did. But in the streams you only see the result, but not what was intended by the teams. Ok, you might argue that this is obvious where they want to land because of the fleet setup of a team, but... I just wanted a confirmation and not work with mere assumptions.

As for the quality... it will be the same like in the previous years. All teams that reach the finals must have shown some degree of competence. There will be weaker teams in the Pre-Qualifiers though and for the first time, we will be able to watch these matches, too. But no one forces you to do this ;-) |

Has CCP confirmed that?
Would be nifty, but I don't have high hopes - especially considering how badly they've run the tournament so far. "We discussed forming 1 (ONE) corporation to make these training in wormholes possible; if we wouldnt merge, 4th would have been forced to spend days and days to setup their own pos, to do this." 2 separate teams considered doing the same thing HYDRA & Outbreak did - how can you justify banning 2 teams who thought it was within the rules? |

Well. I thought I read it somewhere where also the higher tourney entry fees were justified with the higher effort because of additional coverage, but I just can't seem to find it.
From the search for commentators:
Quote:Alliance Tournament X will take place over four consecutive weekends starting on Saturday, June 30 and ending with the grand final on Sunday, July 22.You'll be flown out to Reykjavik, Iceland to join the team here at CCP HQ to help us run the show during the live broadcast of the two final weekends. Flights (from all Icelandairdestinations) and accommodation are supplied by us. All you need is a little spending money.
But then on May 10th:
Quote:With less than two months remaining before Alliance Tournament X takes to your screens, we wanted to bring you details of how your alliance can qualify for this yearGÇÖs event. The tournament will be streamed live over the course of four weekends, starting on June 30th and culminating in the finals weekend on July 21st.
