I play the game in full screen mode with 1 or 2 other options set, however each time I start the game it loads into it's default mode, ie it reset's the screen to windowed and doesn't save any setting changes I have made. Can anyone help????

do you use the setting screen (esc-key) to set it to full screen or just alt-enter? I've heard that alt-enter to get to full screen isn't stored.

PS: never got any problems with it.

Unlikely I know, but did someone else install the game under a diferent user ID for you? It maybe that they are using NTFS security and you dont have write access to the required area?

Extreme but possible for a home system.

 Be lucky!

I use the esc key to set up my screen etc

and I installed the game from scratch so that can't be it.

Has anyone any other ideas what I can do before a full reinstall?

I'm having this same problem. I've nuked the cache, nuked eve (files, folders and registry keys), reinstalled, the works. My settings just will not save. I've played for while now with no problems. This one has me stumped. I have checked the settings files, they're not read-only. I'm running as administrator so there's no disk access issues. I've checked my disk for errors, none. I can write files to the eve directory with no problems, it just seems to be eve.

Anyone have this issue and fix it? Eve CS seems to have a little backlog, 3 days and no response on my question.

I had the same problem where the settings wont save, what i found that solves the problem for me was to clean the cache and start to exit the game my pressing esc and then quit.

Well, cleaning the cache didn't work for me, neither did completely deleting eve and all associated registry keys and reinstalling. Clearly there was something wrong with my system, but I was stumped as to what it was.

Anyway, installing SP2 fixed whatever it is that was wrong with eve's access to the drive.

This problem has often been related to incorrect date/time of your computer. At least it's reproducable if you change your date/time of more than 24 hours if I remember correctly. Installing SP2 most likely autoupdated your date/time.
