Just had a question and wanted to get someone's opinion on a matter. I'm all for war decs, but is there any point when it becomes a little stupid to continue a war dec? And does a tiny 2 million isk fee just perpetuate endless war decs......
Take my recent example. Small griefer corp war decs my corp, (2-4 members) and they fight us for a week. Surprise, they lose, having lost roughly 1.23 billion isk to a single vexor of our own. Half of their members have left the corp, the rest rarely if ever log on. Threat over, war should be over right?
Wrong.. their CEO has now logged in every week for 2 mins to re-up the war dec for 2 MONTHS. Now these guys arent a threat, so its not a big issue. But my question is, if a 2 million isk fee is the price for a war dec, and it takes an experienced player 5 minutes of game time to make such isk, what is the incentive to EVER end wars....
I love war decs and respect their use in games for making corps tougher and more able to survive the harshness of Eve, but is there a certain point in time (say 1 month) where the war dec fee should begin to double every week. I don't know, what do you think??

Grats on your win.
Personally, I would consider their action to be a continuation of your win. Every time they re-up the war, you win another war. I'm actually quite envious. Tears of that magnitude are hard to come by.

Indeed! Name and shame, with battle report.
I'm anxious to hear just how you pulled that off with a vexor

Well if the war dec fee were to double every week at some point, there are players who would abuse that as well by docking up until the war dec got to expensive to maintain (there are some circumstances for long term war decs).
I understand that grief war decs like the one you are subject to leave a person with a sense of 'no resolution'.
My only suggestion would be to pursue an in game solution. Find out who and what corp/alliance these players are using to play Eve (its almost certain that they did not quit) and war dec those groups or hire mercs to go after them.
Find a way to push back.

Check the members or former members employment list and pick a target from there to retaliate against.
