I want a proper pirate game, sails and gunpowder, I used to play "sea dogs", however it's too old, buggy and outdated for my present tastes.
I want an open ended worlds, I just want to sail a huge world and loot merchants, pillage navies etc etc, missions and campaigns aren't interesting, I don't mind them being there, but I probably wont give them much time if the game has them, and it lets me roam about freely.
I'll pay 100m to whoever suggests a game I find to my liking.

Have you tried the Anno-series of games?
It is a economic simulation under the hood, but has good sea fights and can be played as an endless game against multiple computer opponents.

You can have boats. You can ram other boats with them and have the people on them go flying off and drown to death if you're in the middle of the ocean.

I asked the same question, albeit using different words, not so long ago. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but at present, there really are no decent Piratey games out there 
That's not quite accurate...'Sid Meir's Pirates' is very good indeed, but fun and aged though it is, it's still not hardcore  The Akella series of games (Sea Dogs/Age of Pirates 1 & 2) are okay but very old and bug ridden. I played PotC: CotBP back in the day, enjoyed it a lot, much more than the sequel. I couldn't get AoP2 to work on Win7 so never got to try it but reviews across the board had little polite to say about it so. The graphics engine hasn't been updated and it really shows, it's the same as 1 and pretty ugly.
The Tortuga series is an odd one, I tried Two Treasures recently, gave up a little way in. The gameplay was reasonably interesting but no way for the player to save progress = having to repeat a huge map entirely because of one mistake = uninstalled.
PotBS...I played it for a couple of days, it's not bad but it's not particularly good. Sea combat is so boring and presumably unless you're very rich and high level, there's not really any ship customisation. eg you don't choose fittings like in Eve, although you can change colours and apearance After days on the trial, I had a pistol that did a tiny bit more damage than the noob one and a rig (permanent fixture once installed) that gave my noob ship 2% more turn rate upwind, at night on a Tuesday or something equally pathetic.
The swordplay was cleverly implemented but unsatisfying. You fight the same fight *every single time*, collision detection is non-existent. THe RPG aspect is cool enough, if no different from what's come before (you gain alternating skill points every level for either sailing or swordplay to purchase a skill. Several chains give you different specialities). There's no reason I could see to ever even need to talk to another player...perhaps it's intentionally part of the trial but for an MMO there was nothing MM about it whatsoever.
In short if you can handle ancient graphics and low res, give Curse of the Black Pearl a go, or Sid Meir's Pirates. And keep your fingers crossed that someone brings out a true, next-gen, decent game sometime in the near future.

Still no luck, tested age of sail 2 and it's a gfx polished version of sea dogs with the best features brutally removed and replaced with annoying crap that makes me want to tear my hair out.
100m prize is still up for grabs, though i'm near giving up.

Puzzle Pirates (a mmorbfgjfg whatever thing) lol? I use to play it when I was younger but got banned because it was so easy to troll people.
Surprisingly addictive though for a game about cartoon pirates, but
a) not sure if its still running
b) maybe not right genre for someone with a naked bunny in thier sig.

Even tho East India company WAS mentioned, to be precisely exact, you prolly need a fix of EAST INDIA COMPANY: PIRATE BAY wich is East India company without the peasant mongering ... Just loot and pillage to your hearts content to riches and compete with other pirates online too for the top pirate looter
