Edited by: Ragnar STS on 08/08/2009 18:07:16 Loads up fine, can select character, during process of entering game craps out with this:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xfffffffc at address 0x7bc4532c (thread 001c), starting debugger... err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7bc4532c
Is Ubuntu 9.04, custom git install of wine per instructions on sticky post. I am curious about memory size checked in registry. No guidance given on syntax of size. If one has a card of 512M ram, is it 512M, or 524288 (k)? Neither work btw.....the 524288 rendered my machine locked up pretty good. Had to Ctrl-alt-F3 may way to another login and kill the process.

The current version of WINE for me is working fine as well, running Ubuntu 9.04.
It actually solved the random crash problem for me from the previous version. I also didn't compile it myself, due to being much to busy lately to play, I received the updated version of WINE through my routine check for updates. --------------- He who stumbles around in the dark with a stick is blind. I have very same issue. Game start, I think even faster then native but not sure. Log in normally. Can choose character and after that it screw it. I was able to see a space where I log off first time I try to run it under wine, for just about less then second. Trying to load character in station - game hang instead of crash and had to kill process manually. //offtopic I prefer to use a Fedora but F11 is too much bleeding edge for some time now, for ATI developers and don't have support for fglrx, and playing the game with radeon or radeonhd drivers is impossible. Sadly but really regret for buying laptop with ATI video. Never will do this again until Linux gaming is much much more better.
My system is:
Laptop Asus F3Sa Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz 2 GB ram
$ fglrxinfo display: :0.0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 OpenGL version string: 2.1.8575
$ lsb_release -d Description:Ubuntu 9.04
$ dpkg-query -W wine wine1.1.27~winehq0~ubuntu~9.04-0ubuntu1
$ glxinfo name of display: :0.0 display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: Yes server glx vendor string: ATI server glx version string: 1.2 --cut-- client glx vendor string: ATI client glx version string: 1.4 --cut-- GLX version: 1.2 --cut-- OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. P.S. EVE-ONLINE is probably last thing that keep my inferior pseudo os running on this computer. Please help me and set me free from shackles of virus warfare ;) I don't want them anyway :)

@Ragnar STS: ati or nvidia?
Is anyone having these problems with nvidia? I'm running git a few days old and it works fine for me.(nvidia) Originally by: Sareita Nebula $ dpkg-query -W wine wine1.1.27~winehq0~ubuntu~9.04-0ubuntu1
Try using wine-1.1.27 from here. If that doesn't work, try using wine from git as per the sticky post in this forum.
off topic: @Sareita Nebula: the issue with Fedora is their opposition to non-open sourced software. nvidia users don't have good drivers in Fedora either, because the binary nvidia drivers and the fglrx drivers are currently the only really good way to get 3D support. Hopefully this will change soon.
