My standings with Amarr are v. low, -4 approx.
So I fleeted up with my alt, alt ran missions for Amarr (always sharing the rewards etc), my alt got a storyline after 16 missions, but I did not.
Is my standing too low to do anything at all for Amarr, even storylines? Do you need the -2 minimum to get offers from storyline agents? Or am I missing something else?
Oh, and are my standings too low to sell tags to data center agents as well? Anyone know the minimum for that?
Any advice much appreciated.

Your toon w/ -4 needs to accept/turn in the mission. By the mechanics, your -4 toon is just tagging along, not 'doing the paperwork' as well. ------------------- Always remember this about EVE:

Regardless of how many missions you run, regardless of how high your standings are with the NPC corp, you still need -2 or higher standings with the Amarr Empire before any Amarr NPC corps will give you missions.
You might be able to run missions for the Caldari to raise your standings with the Amarr empire.

If your standings are too low there is a chance to raise standings when doing missions with a race which is friendly to amarr. If you do missions then there is a side effect and your standings to amarr will raise too. Takes long time and is pretty hard work to gain back the right standings indirectly.

First, the mission only counts towards storylines for the character who got the mission in the first place, even though standings and rewards are split among the fleet. Second, you do need a modified standing greater than -2.0 to get any missions from agents of a faction. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

As others have said, it is the character requesting and completing missions that gets the storyline missions. It should also be noted that you don't share faction standing gains when fleeted with another character with storyline missions -- only the character who was offered the mission gets the faction standing changes.
Have you trained Diplomacy? If not, training it to 3 or 4 should allow you to speak to Amarr agents. If you have trained it, you will then need to run missions for a faction friendly to Amarr, such as Caldari, and complete their storyline missions to get the derived faction standings and bump up your Amarr standings.
Cheers, Arrs

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I feel a bit dumb not knowing that I had to run 16 missions myself, someone had told me that missions counted towards the 16 for everyone in fleet but obviously that's not the case.
Well I think my standings are probably beyond repair now, as I'm around -3 or -4 with both Caldari and Amarr (worse with Caldari), and that's with Diplomacy at level 4 already.
I may be able to run some level 1s with Khanid Kingdom but that's about it unfortunately.
Looks like the most realistic solution is forget about it with my main and just use my alt for anything I want to do with Caldari or Amarr Oh well.

That faction bloc consists of the Caldari State, Amarr Empire, Ammatar Mandate, Khanid Kingdom, and Mordu's Legion. Are you still in good standing with any of those? If so, you'd get derived increases with the Amarr and Caldari from their storylines. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Edited by: Nika Dekaia on 10/08/2009 15:16:31 You can look up here the interfaction relationships.
You can as well sell tags to agents in datacenters to gain faction standing.
