Heres an overview, more interesting information to follow:
The draw was originally set for 21:00 - 23:00 on the 8th August.
It ended up being well over a day late.
The numbers for the draw were provided by a site that gives random numbers PLUS a code to certify the number was genuine.
Information has reached me that during the period of time when the draw "couldnt be made" numbers were being continuously drawn at the random number site.
This allowed organisers to keep drawing numbers until the people they needed to win had won, complete with legitimate numbers.
more to follow, unless anyone else would like to add something before i get it done? |

Why bother drawing at all? If you have the isk already? Presumably they didn't?

I'm personally responsible for the 24 hour delay. Here's why...
The draws can be monitored by any third party. There is however one issue, and that is identifying WHO actually made the draw. While this lottery has been running hundreds of people have looked into the random generator and tried the formula(Which IS entirely random for those of you still in doubt). Out of interest I've been monitoring all random draws done on the site, and a few hours before the draw was announced F9OOEX explained he wouldn't be able to be around for the drawing(due to being at work) and the draw had already been done and T'amber was notified.
When looking through the logs there we're 49 drawings with names that could be lead back to the lottery, T'Amber of F9OOEX. When I noticed this I started talking in the "Ships of EVE Spam" channel about it, it did however not reach many(Spam, in a spam channel, strange huh?). After a while I gave up and figured I'd convo and ask about it - how we would know which one was theirs and most importantly how we would know they hadn't made multiple draws and just picked the one best for them. She answered, we spoke about it and realized that the only one who would know about it would be F9OOEX, who was at work. The only viable solution would be a redraw and for that we needed him to be online. This means there was no real way of telling what had happened, no real way of fixing it and no way of doing anything about it. After adding a few hours of spot prizes he was forced to call it a night, explained as much as was reasonable at the time and went to bed.
The day after, when both were online they held a redraw, publicly announcing an identifier in advance so there would be no-way for them to rig the drawing and no-way for anyone else to compromise it. This was the only draw on the entire Sunday with the valid formula. Those who were around for the drawing also would know the drawing was public before announced and I even spent a moment proving it in the middle of the draw.
I didn't win any of the major prizes in the lottery. But I've spent quite a few hours going over the formulas, confirming draws and speculating in what ways this could be a scam. If there is a way, I don't see it. If F9OOEX would like to scam, all he'd get are the ships and liquid isk deposited by T'amber, the lottery funds would still be available for refunds. If T'amber would like to scam she'd only have access to the lottery ticket sales money - which she was going to get either way. If they both are in it for the scam they'd first off lose a great deal of isk thanks to loss of trust for a rather small gain(in the end it's no more than 120b total) - and there would be no point suggesting it isn't a scam post the end of ticket sales. Everything beyond that point just cuts in to their profits if it was a scam.
Other than a real simple grab and run type of scam(that would be announced or noticed right after ticket sales and pretty obvious) OR running the third party site themselves and implenting backdoor style code into it - there's no way of actually rigging the lottery.

If you would like to read what happened i posted it at the end of the SOE forum. The reason why there was a redraw is because of what you stated above regarding the multiple rolls using our names and formulaes. If you read the forum you'll see there was no way to cheat as the redraw was made live.
Everyone was happy with this when i redrew and I explained to everyone why this was happening.

I think I may claim scam next time I buy a lotto ticket and don't win ---- a reply which adds nothing to a thread or results in a thread being bumped with no new discussion worthy content is considered spam and as such warrants a forum ban |

I doubt the state or powerball is going to delay the drawings because friends #'s didnt come up. Oh yea, and its verifiable and live.

Out of curiosity, how do you pick a single number out of a integer of 9-15k?
And if you actually read what happened, the redraw was just so that it would be impossible to redraw to let a friend win. Don't you have something easier to troll?
