So the other day I was passing through Onga, and noticed off in the system a marker that said something like "Ceremonial Grounds". This intrigued me, so I warped to it. I found a large ring-like structure, named (cryptically enough) "Ceremonial Ring". That was it - no other objects in space. Nothing was written for it under "Show Info" - unlike the Data Centers, or the "Interstellar Junkyard" I ran across once, there's no lore or history to be found when you click on this thing. It's just there - floating in empty space.
A corpmate mentioned finding something similiar, a "Space Stonehenge" or something like that.
These things add to the ambience nicely, I supposed, but just what the heck are they supposed to be for? It seems to me that everything in EVE aside from the background scenery has a function - certainly named locations in solar systems. Are there any more odd objects like this floating around out there?

I recently found an old Amarr-Minmatar battlefield, including the broken wreck of a Minmatar Dreadnought. No function whatsoever, just provides some nice atmosphere.

If you travel through Gallente space they have a culturally significant site named "Municipal Junkyard" or something similar.
I've yet to take a side trip there, but if you stumble across it, let me know.

There is a lot of abandoned stations and so on usually around planet one in genesis, threes one in Bantish, and one in Bherdasopt Also, Wirashoda (I think?) has something called the "Solaris construct" which seems to be solar collectors just off the sun |

used to have these in almost every system at planets and moons and even NPCs spawning at them. NPCs dropped ship logs that told you the locs, was quite nice
it's all been made deadspace now though - very few static sites about anymore. The old sites still have structures (ruined stations, debris, etc) but no spawns

There used to be an asteroid in Mara which you could fly through. Sadly it got mined away.

Saw an asteroid like that in a mission once - a long tubular (TUBULAR, dude! Mondo!) asteroid. Being unfamiliar with EVE's mechanics, I figured my ship would just be bounced away from the asteroid even though the tunnel was by sight large enough to accomodate my frigate. I was surprised when it let me fly through.

Perhaps they still work, we would just need to find a "trailhead". That is, in the same way some deadspace warp gates will not function unless you have a certain item, like a tag, in your hold - perhaps the site doesn't spawn NPCs unless you have an item from one of the NPCs at the previous site in the "trail". So in order to make anything happen, you need to find the trailhead, or the initial kickoff site. Trouble is, the empty locations give no clues at all.

We really need more eye candy like this.
Maybe add a bunch of random structures in space and put some new in space agents around them that give random missions out to do.
I like seeing random structures throughout space, just make them not lockable and its all good!

I remember there used to a 'plex, I believe where the can that held the passkey was inside of one of those tubular rocks/asteroids.
Also, I haven't noticed, but do NPC's not drop logs any more? I always enjoyed reading those, and had intended to find the places they mentioned some day

I haven't seen any since I resubbed a couple months ago. :/ I used to get a bunch from missions and ratting.
Still have a bunch in my hangar. One of these days...
IIRC, the ceremonial ring thingymajig has beacons that indicate it's a space wedding venue or something.
