On a few missions now I have freed slaves from the hands of their Amarr and Ammatar traders. I have given them all the care to help them get over the trauma of being held captive. Now, as keeping them in my hangar is not much in a way of restoring them to freedom, I would like to know if there is a way of releasing them, free to return to their homeworlds.
Also, in my goodhertedness I have allowed a lot of homeless people, many of them Caldari fugitives, to stay with me. Is there any kind of government program or charity institution that is willing to give these poor souls the professional care that I can't provide in the long run? I'm not looking for financial compensation for having a safe haven to the freed slaves and rescued homeless, I just can't bear the sight of them staying in my hangar, lying on mattresses on the ground between al the loot gathered from their would-be masters.
And no, I don't count offers from Amarrian slaveholders as the professional care mentioned above! ;)

I salute your honour in trying to find these unfortunates a way of being reintegrated into society instead of just throwing them on the trash heap as so many have done. Occasionally in Yulai or a nearby system there are ISD agents who will put out a call for any to be brought to them for rehabilitation (OOC: green text guys).
Otherwise, you could contact any member of the People's Republic of Minmatar, as we have a system in place for looking after such unfortunates until they can be rehabilitated at a future date.

Ahh this old dilemma again...
Saerdna, your problem is a continuously repeating one. We Minmatar freedom fighters have continuously recovered slaves from their Ammar captors, and despite constantly asking the Minmatar Republic for ways to house the ever growing number of freed slaves, we still have yet to hear a sufficient answer.
At the moment, there are two things you can do for the slaves currently staying in your hangar. One is to keep them there, and make sure that none of the Amarr come to you with offers of bribes and promises that may sway you into bringing the slaves back into captivity again.
The other is to give them to me or my fellow freedom fighters. We've got facilities and the experience available to house them more appropriately until a way to give them permanent residence can be found, and they'd be more happy to accept staying amongst their fellow Minmatar. Besides, my Marulan Table dances has a way of making sure that their hopefully temporary stay is a happy one... ---------------

Maybe I'll drop by, and enjoy an Amarula drink whilst watching the table dance... Might make helping those poor souls even more enjoyable!

Amarula speaks true, the Masuat'aa Matari stands ready to aid any released slaves. We will house them until they can be reintegrated into society, protect them until they can protect themselves, and educate them until they find their own way.
Slavery is immoral, if not illegal under certain jurisdictions. If my last breath aids the release of a soul from bondage, then so be it, I give it gladly. Vicarrah Tahiri Protector |

I wouldn't recommend selling them, even into freedom. If I or any of my associates found you had done so, be assured a war declaration would follow and no amount of explaining would prevent it.
Escrow to a known slave rehabilitaion corp, or trade in station.

I will take these poor souls from you, give them food, clothing, and education....

You can always give them to me and I can add them to my plantation. Nothing makes a slave feel better then some hard hours in the uranium mines. The only real minus is that I still only have five copies of pax amarria and the scripture posters included therin. It may be difficult to prevent the stronger brutor slaves from climbing over yours to gain access to the precious copies. -----------------------------------

This lovely infomercial made by the good Archbishop has just about everything you need to know on the subject.

Please return the slaves to their rightful owner, they will thank you for it in the end.

Gaven is right. Just turn them over to the next representative of PIE Inc that you see and we will make sure that they are taken care of.
The sins of the Matari people will last until you all repent!
God punishes those who defy him. The scriptures say:
The Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood. |

Bla bla.
Spewing filth.
Pale hollow beings.
I can't even .. gah..
Hold on while I.. okay.. there.
I am assuming you don't need to be asked to ignore these Amarrians and their flapping jawed pets.
Saerdna Rezloh, you have thus far been a beacon of hope and freedom for a broken Minmatar family. It is a shame that the beacons that burn all over don't help to illuminate our Republican leaders and tribal council, instead they turn away from this light and embrace the darnkess, cloaking themselves in politics and leverages with the other empires.
Many have already offered you contacts to join those you liberated with other freed. I trust you will contact them or continue to protect these brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers within your hold until such a time as they can be intergrated back into the Republic or seek membership within the Gallente Federation.
Fly swift and hunt well. --------------------------------------------------

Greetings Gallente scum. It is my duty as a Caldari to inform you that no true Caldari would accpet the help of Gallente trash. No, those slaves would rather you jettison into the cold of space then spend one more second in the keep of a Gallente Hypocryt. I do hope the Amarr some day decided to crush your.. Feeble empire, so that the Caldari may once again beseig your people. You have held the home world for far to long. However i will glady take these Caldari off your hands, such weakness within our empire is not and shall never be tolerated.

Edited by: Fasute Sethnakte on 13/10/2004 00:08:43 May I remind you that Metatron runs the Neo Citizen program, which offers all men and women of the Minmat race the chance of a productive and prosperous lifestyle not offered anywhere else in the Amarr Empire.
I'm sure you're familliar with our advertisments.
Additionally, should you decide to hold onto your newly aqquired property, Vitoc Opprimo is the perfect solution for keeping them alive, as property tends to expire if you don't give them their dosage.
Don't let these so called safehouses fool you when they say they will set the slaves free, because typically they can hardly keep them alive even if they do have a small supply of Vitoc. Do them a favor and don't send them to these death warehouses. ______

As one of the more liberal-minded Caldari, I too am faced with this dilemma. I've voiced before that I fear my home station will grow suspicious of the clattering around in my hangar, and in their infinite wisdom decide they're best put to work in a SuVee BioWeapons Test Lab.
As a former slave myself I empathize with these poor souls, and just want to see them restart their lives as I have.
While I appreciate their assistance in helping maintain my hangar and giving me a warm welcome home from journeys abroad, I want to see them free. And yes, that's unusual sentiment for a Caldari, but I never was one to adhere to my State-sanctioned profile anyway. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Any member of Gradient can be left a contact message, and escrow the former slaves to one of us, they will be picked up and transported to our city. In Hope, there are nearly a million of them now, so there is plenty of company, perhaps even the slight chance of finding relatives. Medical treatment of those in need, as well as all other necesities are provided for at no cost to them. Any donations of Isk or supplies is also greatly appreciated. The Gradient Anti-slavery officer is Tyche, she can be left a message via Eve-mail for more details.
