Generally speaking) I have actually met some of my corp mates in real life (sad, i know), and they were normal dudes. I was expecting a load of computer nerds but that wasn't the case at all. I would dread to think what the Everquest community are all like. i for one would rather fly a battleship in my spare time and blow people up with missiles and guns than cast some kind of uber magic hat spell on them. One faction is the carebears and another faction is the pro-gank type guys (pirates and any other non mutual PVP). The carebears are just **ed at the gankers because the gankers are still finding ways to gank them and ruin their uber zen mode so they are jaded. The pro gank guys are ed because they were promised a totally different game than it is today. They were promised a single server to play on and not 2 (pvp = 0.0, non pvp = empire) and CCP are constantly changing it in the carebear direction. Anyone can you off and backstab you all they want, when you try and do somethign about them they just go to empire space for extended amount of time. Almost done finishing off your nme? Well they are just gonna go to empire space to recover from the war \o/ And no i don't hate nice people. Its totally sad how people are often jaded about being killed. Only very very few people accept it as 'part of the game' as they should. I see more and more people now who are under the illusion of safety because of all the plastic surgery CCP has done to EVE post release. This ofcourse makes them even more Jaded towards general PVP. 'Hey you killed me while i though i was safe waaaaaa and your using very lame borderline exploit tactics OMG your uber lame and you suck blahblah'... Seriously EVE isn't what they promised it would be. Should i just quit playing now or start mining around the clock or being an unsuccesfull PC pirate hunter like the thousands of other out there who hunt NPC 99.9999% of the time... Should i join some uber leet corp and fight meaningless wars for their meaningless, made up cause 'you mined my roid waaaaaa'. The only other thing i would ever want to do in EVE is be a merc and even that is being nerfed by CCP all the time. They dont want anyone attacking another player who doesn't want to be attacked. Well guess what PvP really is in mmorpgs?! O_o If anymore nerfing is done to PVP in empire or generally then EVE will turn into just another mmorpg where there is nothign to do but mine rocks... Reloaded INC	Posted - 2004.10.09 11:09:00 - [73] if u are looking for the better side of eve i suggest u get out of empire or go to a nice quite part of it. as for players being smack heads on the help channle, and on the forums well thats just normal im afraid. if u would really like to experince the better side of eve find a corp thats willing to take you on as a tackler class piolit and dosnt want u to mine veldspar and kernite all day long. youll find that the corporations who wish to force u into mining in order to gain rank are well *******s. you will never learn true teamwork comradery and freindship from these guys. if u are really ... hard up for help and worried that all in this game are smack heads then convo me. ill be willing to teach you the few skills i know and show u how to survive and grow through teamwork. youll also find our corp a filthy back of buggas and constantly be spitting your cofee over the screen I am the bad guy the kriptonite the green cronic.

Buffing that newbie, assisting with a train/adds. Its totally random good stuff. Anyone who's played another MMOG will know what I mean, total random acts of kindness that save your backside. In eve with its effectively instanced missions, the best you can hope for is someone will recover your stuff from your can if you get killed. Don't get me wrong as Jorlin said - if anything other MMOG's have even more ways of of ***ing people off, another example from other games; Lewt ninja, and eve players moan about the odd ore theif. But... here's the theory - no-one helps me why should I help them? emotes - they are something which makes IRC, which is a clunky dated odd chat system still popular. Sure we got them in eve. But you can't do random odd stuff. I can't do the "funkie chicken dance" (from AO) on top of that mob/player I've just killed. Eve does have /emote funtionality - but it don't work as in other games, and you can't really do them in frigate. So we get smack talk in local... I'd rather have someone /emote moon* while they've selected the other players corpse with their character than smack talk in local... I mean that from which ever side of the fight I'm in. Ever found your self wanting to fire on your own side? Every MMOG has its far share of smacktards who should have been smothered at birth. See these forums, these provide my case. Yeah, in this as well as other MMOG's there's probably alot of people that should put down the keyboard and get laid with another person of their sexual preferance/small furry animal of their preference. Bhaal - I'm amazed with that attitude if its another human - shoukld I be calling the animal protection league? Other MMOG's do PvP, and you don't see that Jaded streak in its players. Yeah, those that are burned out, and about to leave, but not such a huge % of the player base. They usually *** about the mechanics. Actually find me an MMOG where someone isn't *ing about the mechanics. I can't be uber anymore... yadda yadda yadda. It ain't an MMOG without some one *ing. So after *ing off eve, why the hell am I playing. Re-read Reloaded INC's post. Its my corp, in my view some of the best bunch of guys in the world. Lardarz - you say this too, but you put down EQ. Just to scare you, I've met players for a beer irl from EQ, AO, DAoC, SW:G and CoH. You know what - they all a solid bunch of guys and girls. Audita et altera pars**
