What does a car mostly run on? Its wheels, fuel or engine?
So what? I dislike signatures... *hmph* |

Hamsters.
Or gerbils, if you can afford them.

are you asking which part to upgrage? cuz if so, then do all of them. i'd do MB and Processor first(which you'll most likely need new memory for anyhow). vid cards change so much that it's best to wait and upgrade to the best when it comes out...
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

Needs all 3. And the bigger each is, the better.

and the simple answer is? i notice you did not bother with one.
The first reply pretty much summed it up. And it is pretty clear the second answer has already reached the fanfest and discovered the awful truth.

ok, Believe it or not, the graphics car dyou use doesnt really make any difference as long as you have one that can supporrt dx9.. i actually broke my 9600xt (256mb), and put back in my ti4200, and actually got better performance in certain scenarios.. with that card and 1.5gb of 3200 ram, AMD xp3200, and nf2ultra400 board, i get about 30-35 fps with all windows (scanner/chat/dronebay/cargobay) etc in 1600x1200 fullscreen, about 55-60 with windows disabled(alt+tab), and 65-70 with all ui disabled (ctrl+f9), thats with no action going on. in fleet battles you can pretty much half those numbers.
as long as you got a half decent graphics card, you only really needto worry about the cpu and memory (eve still has its memory leaks, so you need a shed load if you want to run multiple accounts/play fleets battles for any extended amoutn of time smoothly). the cpu is the most importantly though, cus of eve's ghey engine, at least a 3ghz i'd , or you'll just lock up in fleet battles and running in window mode or multiple accoutns will be slow as hell. (slow as hell being 2-5fps fleet battles, 25fps window mode, and 15fps multiple accounts running and windowed)
hope this helps you dude :)

If you're having performance problems I would try to test the Shiva client. You won't believe how much better it performs compared to the current Castor build.
In other cases I'd say CPU, ram, graphics. In that order. I'd say that eve gets quite CPU intensive whenever it's loading something, but as said the current Shiva build seems to perform a lot better on that front. And when I say a lot I'm talking about a 100% increase in FPS-rates in certain situations. It's incredible!
